I'm fairly new here but after seeing the previous post of worlds most beautiful garages i was interested in seeing other members garages (the normal people with less than millions). I'm moving into my first new house and am trying to figure out what to do with my garage. It seems to be a fairly tight space.
Just to start things off the garage below is mine all virgin and untouched. (Don't close on the house till next week.)

Lol. Hey there, neighbor. Our current garage is pretty plain. Just white pegboard and nothing cool but we've got plans for the new place. We're getting the garage floors coated and we're trying to decide on the storage. Definitely a nice tall tool box for the under-stairs cubby area and something along the back wall. We've pulled both Miata's in and there is plenty of room along the back wall for a cabinet system and some work surface. We may go with the Rubbermaid system that hangs on the wall.
I'm also very tempted to just get something like this

Not huge, but enough to do the trick. Very clean and sleek.

Hey Jenn
Yeah having two miata's in the garage would open up so much space. As i always tease my fiancee about, her car is a freaking whale (toyota solara) so its going to pretty much take up one side of the garage.
Yeah what you're showing is what i would love to do. I was looking at those ready made storage units and they seem ridiculously expensive for what they are. The just general 2 door cabinets cost more than a full craftsmen toolbox.

Yeah, they aren't cheap but after having a garage with just open wire shelves and a work bench that's small and older than both of us, we're thinking of making a reasonable splurge for Christmas. I'm so tired of the disorganization and clutter. Maybe just start with one tall cabinet, two small ones and a work surface. I'm looking at the Gladiator stuff that is welded, not ready to assemble, with all metal shelves. We've made this list of wants and needs for the house and we're prioritizing things and pricing it all out and since I'm more than a little OCD about organization, the garage is up pretty high on the list. Maybe there will be some good after Thanksgiving sales at Sears.

Here's a few of mine - humble submissions in light of Steve's earlier posts of those amazing garages! The garage is a 2 car with a nice amount of space - roughly 20x22. There is a door at the end of the garage that leads to a storage room - that's where my air compressor is. There's a door off to the left that leads to an unfinished two room suite which is great for storage.
This is the most recent picture - in fact, I took it minutes ago. I just added 6 48" T8 lighting fixtures a few weeks ago - they make a world of difference, especially when working at night! The fixtures are less than $10, and the bulbs are cheap. I'd recommend this to anyone. Also, you can see my new Husky toolbox. The Kobalt to the left of it will be for sale soon!

Good idea for a thread! I cleaned up my parents garage big time this summer, I need to take some pictures with all the stuff back in there which aren't quite so nice. But here are a couple from when the floor was drying.

Since then we've also put in more fluorescent lighting than you can shake a stick at. Lights up really well with the glossy walls and floor. Unfortunately the paint on the floor hasn't held up as well as I thought it might and it gets really slippy when wet.

Well since I sit around and envy your cars over mine it's my turn to gloat....This is truly man-land. Night pics don't do it justice but it's a great place to be...Coated floor and a bunch of sh... behind all of those cabinet doors like jacks, jackstands, vacumns, and every kind of cleaner you could ever want. Changing oil, spilling stuff, all just wipes right up. Cabinets are just Home Depot cabinets that I painted and put counter tops on. Oh and about " Man Land". Notice only wifey's car is in the garage tonight....Miata is getting her AC fixed today.

Here's what it looked like prior to the crash. A full 17'6" square circa 1925. It was near falling down when we got the house- but I built it back, better than it was before.

I have been planning/procrastinating on pulling old cab's out of a house getting renovated, but never have. I did just pick up a table saw and some more shelving to help clear up some of the accumulated clutter I have now, but having cabinets that close and hide stuff plus the work surface would be freakin sweet. My dad has some extra stainless steel work tables that he's offered me for my garage, but they're so freakin big (he bought a bunch of tables from restaurant auctions for his work surfaces, they're AWESOME).

Yea, it really kills me on those home shows where they tear out the cabinets with a sledge hammer.....I keep thinking....Man those would be great in my garage. I've seen some on Craigslist from time to time for decent deals.

I like the 4 in Nick's garage. That's excellent lighting. Make's detailing a car way easy.

The rainbow of cancer-causing powdercoat is getting to me, everything
(jacks, jackstands, shop press, engine hoist, engine stand, welder, bench press, toe plates, and air compressor) is about to be painted one solid color just to match.
That and it'll be easy to find if anything were to be stolen.

Mine is for sale if you're interested, top + bottom for $600. (It goes for $900 new (http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/ctaf/displayitem.taf?Itemnumber=91469))
The stainless steel one looks great but the sheet metal is a thinner gauge compared to the red ones.
I've had over 500 lbs of tools in it, the slider bearings work great even with all the weight. It cleans up quick too.
