Since some of you have been asking, here is the reason why I have been selling some of my stuff recently. I've wanted this exact car since high school....finally got one.

PICS Posted...

Not a miata....but still fun nonetheless, especially with 550hp on tap.

Didn't even know it was in that movie. I loved it when I saw it new on the lot at Jacky Jones ford in Cleveland, Ga. (I'm an old guy).

Saleen: translation an SCCA competition platform, a Mustang that can turn corners!! Well done Joe! I guess the 5.0 is going to be for sale for somebody else to install in a miata? Not that I can afford it, but how much is your 500 hp small block gonna go for?

Nice Joe!!! That was the only way I liked a foxbody, Saleen is a big +.

Rollin' in my 5.0
With my rag-top down so my hair can blow
The girlies on standby waving just to say hi
Did you stop no I just drove by
Kept on pursuing to the next stop
I busted a left and I'm heading to the next block

I gave my 5.0 motor and cash for the Saleen, so it is gone. I didn't need the other motor as the Saleen already had the same heads, intake, cam and a supercharger :)

Roger that, so now you have two supercharged beauties. The number of mods for that Saleen is endless, you could totally make it a track/autocross beast, or go drag racing , or just enjoy reliable 500 hp transportation. Oh I envy you right now.

No offense but that's one seriously ugly ride.

Never liked Mustang verts. Only Foxbody I'd take is a coupe which is pretty sexy.

At least performance wise it's decent.

Awesome on getting a car of your dreams though congrats!

That's great - I've always been a closet Mustang fan. I was hoping to get a 1985 5.0 with t-tops for my first car, but none fell into my budget at the time (which was a sweet princely sum of $1000).

Nice, man nice. I have always been a fox body mustang fan. Thou I dislike the vert fox bodies, always like the hatchbacks.

Nick, I understand. I still love to have a nice black t-top hatchback with red interior.

For the longest time I wanted a LX 5.0.

A friend of mine has a twin turbo fox body. He has like $30k in the car (he was a marine and spent every paycheck on the car). 1000 hp. Non stop problems. Very fast in a straight line when running.

I guess I just prefer things with IRS these days.

LOL at vert fox body autocrossing! :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

it takes serious work to make a fox body turn.

I also prefer the coupe of all fox bodies.

The house in Pic two looks exactly like the house I bought my 97 from. In fact the open garage door looks exactly like the garage door I drove my car out of when I bought it.

Damnest thing

My brother just built a LX Coupe 5.0 from a 4-banger coupe. I really like the coupes better than the hatchbacks.

I respect everyones opinion on aesthetics...purely a matter of taste. Interesting note...the vert were made from coupes, hence the trunk.

Handling-wise , the Saleen vert handles well stock (for a fox body vert, which is horrible) which means it is just mediocre instead of dangerous. Fox bodies can be made to get around a road course pretty fast for reasonable $. They are horrible stock.

After figuring out that there is no one perfect car for me I was looking for something that I like that does a lot of things well. This fit the bill. Has some collector status for car shows/cruises (don't see one every day), the top goes down, handles OK, stops great, is VERY fast, very comfortable and I can fit the family in it. Bottom line...I like it.

Motor pic coming now... :)

I hear you.....I'm still waiting for someone to write a song about (or referencing) my miata. If it ever happens, hopefully it will be better than that one :)

Nice car. I wanted a Saleen when I bought my 88 Mustang GT but did not have the money. 21 years later I still have the car & it runs great. Is yours a factory non-A/C car or has somebody removed it?

Thanks.....it IS nice to be able to lite the tires up at 60mph again. I still love the miata.....just very different cars. Hands down, the Miata is TONS more fun in the tight twisties.

Now you just have to brace the 'vert, cause they have the rigidity of al dente spagetti. I spent 9000 on my cobra to make it handle better, a kid with a miata, with a CAI caught me in the twisties in the mountains of NE Georgia. My suspension mods were worth more than the kids whole car. Lesson learned. For a knife fight, brinfg a knife, not a sledgehammer. lol

Previous owner removed it. I have it all though and it is going back on. It was a factory sticker delete car though (shipped in the trunk).
