please help my marriage! My wife's computer frozen!

My wifes laptop, which is of course the only computer in the house with current spyware, is locked up. She doesn't want to lose her files, they aren't irraeplacable, but it would be a huge PITA to have to find them all again. She doesn't want to drop $300 at the Geek Squad. Can any of you computer savy types help me out? It doesn't have the white screen of death, its just caught up in some trojan horse loop. I'm willing to pay for your time, just not to the value of another computer:) Thanks for looking.

What can and can't you do on it first of all? Can you get into Windows?
