Hey guys, I keep getting water in my trunk but I've checked the rain rail, which seems to be in good shape. I've checked around the antenna too and it doesn't seem to be coming from there. The leak seems to be isolated to the spare tire and I can never actually find water dripping. The only reason I know its really leaking there is because the tool kit I store there is damp and my tools are rusting :(

Any ideas?

trunk seals.

Any one in particular? The main rubber seal where the trunk meets the lid seems fine.

look up top closer to the corners where the door opens. close to the hard top mounts area. i fyou have debris there and the seals are a little old, water will travel up and over the seals to get in your trunk.

Check your tail lights as well. I had a rubber seal go bad on the driver's side and water was coming into the trunk through it.
But from your description it does sound like it's coming from up high, so double check the main trunk seal. Also make sure it's still pliable enough to create a seal and isn't staying permanently "squished".

I like explanations that involve the capillary action of water. Looks like it's time to pick up a can of silicone sealant.
