okay so my damper adjustment knobs are in the way of the spare tire..
ive seen a kit to relocate it closer to the center of the trunk, but i DO NOT want to mount it under the car. because 1 its not a truck, and 2 it will be in the way of the up and coming exhaust bits
sooooo, has anyone seen this kit online anywhere? i have considered making one myself, but i dont have the needed supplies.
thanks,
Derek
psssst links would be appreciated

like, the spare doesn't fit in because the knobs are there? How big are the friggin knobs!?

like it doesnt fit because the knobs come up too high and wont let the spare move all the way back into its original location. i have it ghetto rigged in there, but i dont want it to come loose and break my knob lol then id

The Beatrush rear strut tower brace came with a spare tire relocation bracket. I used mine to mount my methanol injection tank. RSpeed had one for sale not too long ago and I don't think it sold.

It's a very simple design. I can take some pictures if you'd like.

yeah man! thatd be great! i found a site that sold the rear strut bar and relocator as a pair, but now they only sell the bar. they had a picture of it up, but not a good one. so any thing like top and side view would be good. ill need some measurements of the length, and the height, and where the hols are located if you dont mind :)

I will try to remember to do it the next time I'm at the car. I don't keep it where I live.

its cool man, take your time im not in a rush.
id just like to have it safely relocated instead of lining up the lug hole over the bolt hole that the bolt goes into, and tightend it down as tight as possible lol

Take it out and pick up a can of that goo that fills up punctures. It's what AMG does

LOL Talk to your tire guy about how much they like it. And when you do, take a quick measurement of his wing-span before you say anything and stay out of striking range. Mention fix-a-flat to those guys and they instinctively start swinging. They can't help it, it's a knee jerk reaction.

What's wrong with it?
it lines the inside of a tire with liquid so when you break the bead on the tire all the liquid flys everywhere. I lucked out at NTB and never had to do one, but a co-worker did one. Biggest pain to clean up afterwards.

I've removed my spare tire all together and procured a flat fix kit instead. it is kinna risky, but if you pay attention to your tires like I do the odds are not staked to high, and it sure free's up a lot of space in my trunk I can even put two days worth of luggage in it now!

lol yeah i just tore the spare out and im just gonna pay attention to my tire pressures. but im still considering making myself one, if i need to go on a long roadtrip, where the spare may not be optional.

Just get a small air-compressor. It shouldn't weigh a whole lot either. The S2000 CR got one in replacement of the spare-tire and I thought about picking one up for the miata...

Roadside assistance is like $4/mo through Verizon. I'm sure most cellphone companies have it. I also have it through my insurance (USAA). That way, I can get one company to tow the car to my house, and another to tow it to a shop (if necessary).

I have spares in both my Miatas. From owning the blue one for... about 5 years, and the black one for about 5 weeks... I have used the spare for the blue one ONCE. and I could have easily called someone because it was about 9:00am and only about 10 miles from home, or within walking distance of a tire shop if need be. I ended up just putting it on and driving to my regular Discount Tire, and they patched my other tire for freebies.

not true.. i worked at kauffman.. it just smelled horrible.... your reeeely dumb if you manage to spray yourself with it... ( gets on ur shirt at best...) but i hope no one is as dumb as some of the ppl who gash the tire open and empties 5 cans in it...
