Will it not install or not start up? Vista has a compatibiltiy option so that you can run it as previous versions of windows. Right click on the program and hit the compatibility tab.

Doesn't Windows Media Player have built in audio ripping capabilities?

Yeah it does. But this is not for trying to rip music off of CDs.
