... they draw your blood.
I got home from work today, excited that it was nice out this afternoon, so I decided to work on cleaning up my newly acquired '00 head in my parts washer. I had just gotten started when I was trying to break a bolt loose, it was being a *****. So I tried harder, and it broke free... And as a result, my hand slammed into a metal bracket on the intake manifold.
I thought nothing of it and reset myself so I could move on to the next bolt. That's when I noticed blood pouring out of the knuckles of my middle and ring finger on my left hand.
Long story short, I cut my ring finger pretty good, but my middle finger took the brunt, 3 stitches to keep it closed.
Unfortunately, I type a lot for my job, so this is going to suck as those 2 fingers have to stay straight. Gotta keep the stitches in for 10 days. :(
Hope everyone else's day ended better!

I feel your pain. I get one of those per week it seems like. Not quite the severity to require stitches, but close. Enjoy your typing.
two weeks ago i adjusted my clutch pedal, the wrench slipped and i banged my hand straight into some computer bracket under the dash. didnt need stitches but ive still got the wounds, i dripped blood everywhere and i only just got back most of the movement in my index finger. i believe that was the first serious blood drawn from the miata:)

We gounna call yas Buddafingahs, bub...
Seriously, that's got to suck. If your statement holds true, then I own a 2003 4-Runner out there somewhere... it's skid plate fell on my achilles tendon and I didn't walk for 6 months :(
I've paid my blood-dues many times over.....

Ye Olde Automotive Blood Sacrifice...
Been there done that too many times to count, my hands look like 5 miles of bad road. The worst was trying to break the crank bolt free on 2 liter Triumph straight 6 circa 1985. Cold day and I've rolled the engine stand out into the driveway .Story ends the same way , took it right between my middle & ring fingers,it took a minute to start bleeding due to the cold but once it started it didnt stop until after I had been stitched up. Took metric forever for it to heal.
Heal well

Full price cylinder heads don't draw blood. But the less they cost in money, the more they cost in blood.
Hope you recover fast man.

Thanks all.
 Ben. Must be true. I guess I need to go ahead and make some appointments at the Urgent Care center.
Can't see it Steve. They used this awesome wrap (they applied it in a way I've never seen before either). I'll take it off in a few days and snap some shots. :D
And today sucks. They didn't give me any pain meds, said Advil would work (yeah right!), IDK how a finger hurts so bad, and they gave me my tetnis shot in my right shoulder, so it's stiff. My boss told me I could go home, but I have way too much to do and it's going to take a lot more than that to keep me from working.

BULL****!
Most of the time everyone does their own tending of the fire, you only will be told to quit if you put it out. lol
However, I am lighting it. Always have, and always will.

No pain = no gain.
BTDT many times over. My buddy lovingly calls Craftsman and other store brand 'cheap' wrenches "Knucklebusters" due to their less then perfect specs and tendency to slip.

MAC calls their wrenches KnuckleSavers. That's one reason why damn near all my tools are MAC or SnapOn.

Snap-On FTW. I bought their 18V cordless impact wrench and vibrating/digital torque wrench. :)
