OK so the roommates car is acting up. He took it to a family mechanic but you know most car, it didn't act up at the shop.
I am thinking it something with the torque converter but my lack of slush-box knowledge I am not sure.
The problem:
Sometimes and not always, after starting the car the Rpm will climb with out much acceleration. It weird as you can be driving, like this morning for a good mile or two before it starts happening. If feels like a really really bad slipping clutch. He had it happen a few times. "He said if he puts it in N or P and revs it, it will go away, can take anywhere from a sec or about a minute of free Reving to solve"-his words.
Then what weird is yesturday, when at a light, the car shuttered as if he was tapping the gas well holding the break. The Rpm's weren't climbing(I was looking) but it felt as if a "clutch" was rapidly engaging and disengaging.
I started thinking this morning that maybe this TC is going, as this morning the "slipping" reminded me of when my Talon's clutch went on me.
Anyone have an experiance dealing with Auto got any ideas. A quick search online showed it could be maybe a TC or the trans fuild are shot.
