My wife and I just returned from our 25th anniversary trip.
It really was extraordinary and total credit for the planning goes to my wife who did a tremendous job getting it all together. We had to travel by every mode of transportation known to man and she had it mapped out perfectly.
Okay so I will try not to bore you with too many pics but I will try to put in some that capture the beauty of some of the areas we visited. Our trip consisted of Rome with a day trip to Florence (not enough), Capri, Positano including Pompeii,
Athens and Santorini.
We saw all the ancient ruins in Rome, Athens and Pompeii but I will not bore you with pics from there as I think most have seen similar ones. We did see artifacts dating back as far as 6000 B.C. that were truly amazing though.
Our two favorite destinations with the most panoramic views where definitely Capri and Oia Santorini. Florence Italy also was very beautiful and the little village of Fiesole above Florence was even more so.
I did take well over a 1000 photos but here a just a few.

Nice. Glad you had a good time. And you're right, Florence deserves a few days. It's small but so lovely. I spent so much time just wandering around that place with no destination. Rome, not a huge fan but I did love the cheap and easy Autogrill. I hope you were able to visit the sites in Rome without a huge crowd.
Let me know if you want to see my albums from Florence, Rome and Santorini.

Yes Jenn I would love to. I just made a CD of my pics but would love to see yours as well. We really were very lucky with crowds. It was late enough in the season so we really didn't have to wait in line for much of anything. We even got though the Vatican pretty quickly.
Remind me to tell you about the restaurant we had lobster spaghetti at in Santorini. It was fabulous.:D
We had dinner with a couple guys from Zurich staying in our hotel and shared dinner with them. I had to take a pic.

Spent a little time in Amalfi, wouldn't you like to get a Miata on some of those coast roads..............assuming you knew no one else was coming the other way!!!

Yeah I consider myself a decent driver but I tell you the taxi drivers are good. They scared my wife to death though. She hates those roads.
