I was thinking of taking a drive through north GA this weekend, just me and the GF. I don't plan on making it a planned 'run' or anything though. Wave if you see a blue protege5 (hatch) w/ yellow fogs ;)

So who all did we see up there? PS, did y'all run in w/ the retards in the 240s? (well, at least 2 of them were 240s). I was in my nearly stock Protege keeping up with them (meaning: they were slow) until I came up on a corner behind them and noticed smoke lingering... I swear they were trying to drift the ****. I slowed up on 1 of the straights to let them get on because I was a bit worried about getting caught out if 1 of them decided to loop their ****.
Ugh, anyway, it was nice meetin' y'all! Sorry, I'm aweful w/ names but I'm good w/ cars:
BRG w/ roll bar and Gold / silver RBs, and a red Fukus. :)
PS: Lots of traffic up there this go round.

We actually had some really good runs today. Jack met up with me and Paul after we'd been up there for a while, and we saw Andrew at least three times.
Was that hideous thing following the 240's an R33?

We passed what looked like a fatal Harley wreck up on Richard B. Russel. Came around a curve and there was a guy warning people to slow down...a little farther around the curve and a few people were crowded around the guardrail on the outside of the turn. A rashed up Road King was leaned up against the guardrail (apparently lifted off of the riders, mid 30's man and woman) and they were sprawled out on the ground, one face up, the other face down, both unconscious if not worse. Was pretty grisly...
Still have no idea how they managed to dump it on a very VERY slight curve in the road. I mean Richard Russel is nothing but sweepers anyway.

Man, y'all got lucky. I got caught behind some slow-poke ever run. And I'm honestly not sure what car #3 was, I didn't really stick around to take a close look, not my kinda crowd ;)

Luck of the draw I guess. We ran with a trio of Porsches (one of which was a GT3) and a couple of bikes. Occasionally it did require a little pushing to get some of the dumbasses to make use of the multiple pull off areas. I love pop-up lights. :P

Had a blast of a time, we cover so many more miles than you realise. I'm also quite pleased that I didn't lag so far behind after the first meet up
I saw you out there amuff, you went past me in the opposite lane when you had a few 240's around you going south on 19-60. Left a card on another Miata, and then on the drive back there were a pair of attractive females in a Merlot NB.

Hmm, I never went southbound on 60... you sure that was me? My route was basically 60 in from Gainsville, right on 180, after 1 frustratingly slow run E, I spun around, did another full go through, took a breather @ the (closed on Sundays apparently) gas station @ the INT of 60/180, took 180 E one last time, then headed home down 129.
EDIT: If you remember, what color were the fogs? This is me (taken today ;))

ah. Must've missed you :wtf: It was PROBABLY 129 if I was heading S towards dahlonega.
I don't think anyone actually posted this yet, but I stopped to get a quart of oil and some haterade from the gas station as on the W side of the 400/60 intersection while tommy and paul were topping up lol. It was a "that car looks familiar-ish" moment ;) Just happened to be there @ the same time. I honestly thought the chances of seeing y'all up here were pretty slim, but I was mistaken haha

:P we nearly all do the same routes and inevitably have problems with the same set of cars that just drive around slowing everyone down.

Just caught this message... Did you go last weekend Boyd??
This weekend is the last weekend for Octoberfest in Helen, GA...
Me and the fiancee are going up there either on Sat. or Sun- not sure quite yet, as well as doing some good runs on the loop just north of Helen through Haiwassee up Hwy 17, Hwy 348 Richard Russell Pkwy, Hwy 160 through Suches, and Hwy 19 over Wolf-Pen Gap/Blood Mountain and then back to Helen again.... Its the best loop in North Georgia, just don't get too crazy and watch out for cops...
Its rather funny watching my fiance choke down a caramel covered festival apple- only to throw it up again after scaring the sh%t out of her on the Richard Russell "SEASICK" Pkwy!! That's only after holding it in for a 1/4 mile til we got to a safe spot to pull over....:jawdrop:
I post later in the week which day we are going this weekend, if anyone is interested...

Jenn and I were up there, got up there late Sat. and took 60 past Suches for a good many miles, then came back down 60 to 19 and took it over to Turners Corner, up 129/Blood Mtn, over to 75 ALT (rICHARD b Russel?) and took the to the end, took a right, and took 129 back to Turners Corner, back down 19 and took 60 back to D'lon.
Saw several Elises and a yellow NSX.... but not much else.
