I really don't like the fact that there isn't a hot button for finding my own posts or a subscribed threads hot button. Unles, of course, I am missing them....

There's a subscribed threads button in the user cp, I could add one to the top somewhere though.

Now I see it, but yeah, having one up top is nice...

Why don't your subscribed threads automatically show up under User CP? I think that would make a lot more sense

Don't they do that already? I've never subscribed to a thread in all my forum going so i can't quite answer that one.

Test...

edit: doesn't look like there's even a section for subscribed threads under user CP. And it didn't show up after I posted (and I have it set to auto-subscribe w/ no e-mail notification) here.

worked for me?

Yeah, if you click on subscriptions. What I meant was is there a way for it to have new posts in your subscriptions come up directly under UserCP. The other 2 VB forums I'm on have that, works great. Just select UserCP and boom, subscribed threads with new posts are there front and center.

Ok, I see what you mean. It'll be quicker for me to just create a new button up the top to bring you to page of subscribed threads though. I'll get on it tomorrow.

quicker, yes, but not as effective. If you want to view all your subscriptions, there's the Subscribed Threads button under UserCP. No need for redundant redundancy.

Maybe it's b/c I'm so used to this, but here's what I have on most forums: Basically, I have a bookmark directly to the forums UserCP page. One click and I see any subscribed thread that's had a new post since I last checked.

Yeah but this isn't VBulletin because it's a completely out of pocket (my pocket) website and I can't afford a license so I've spent countless hours modifying the MyBB template to make it as much like Vbulletin as possible so it's as familiar as possible for the general user. User familiarity and comfort is what I'm all about, which is why I've put so much time into this place to try and make people feel at home here.

For me to change the layout of the control panel would be editing some real deep ****. I'll take a look at it but I make no promises. Whereas I could add a nice convenient link to the header area for subscribed posts which you could bookmark instead of the overall the cp.

oh, well that explains it. I had no idea that it was that complex. Thanks man!!! I'll need to hit that donate button on Friday when I get paid

Hold off the donations. I need to figure out some way for different reward scheme's for donaters. This is when I feel like cursing out the lucky buggers who drop the big money on vbulletin and just click install!

Maybe if we end up with enough money I could look into vbulletin for longetivity.

$180 for an Indefinite License and 1 year of updates. Been there done that. :)
Fortunately, the person I was building the forum for paid the bill. lol
