Its amazing what a wash, clay bar, wash, wax, polish and 5hrs can do to an 11yr old paint job!!!
Pics are in my album. I did not want to get out of the car when I was done. I just wanted to keep driving.

Well in the past I have used Zaino Brothers Car Show Polish, which I have loved! But I decided to do a rather non-scientific test.
My buddy just bought the $100+ Zaino Bros kit, which is what I normally use. He used it on his two motorcycles, GTI & his wife's Mustang GT.
I used a $20 Macguiar's clay bar kit from Walmart.
He and I both agree, the Zaino Bros kit is totaly not worth the money.
I was floored by the results, I am very pleased with the Macguiar's kit.
The paint is soft and smooth as a baby's arss.

Thanks everyone for the compliments. I just hope sap and or bird poop wont be on it in the morning. Ugh I miss my garage. I hope it looks that good for when I get to the ARSCCA event tomorrow. Which BTW I hope all the Miata's dominate their classes!
I detailed cars on a used car lot for two years as a part time job in college + being a car addict... "Hi my name is Tom, Im addicted to cars." "Hi Tom" makes me hate driving a dirty car.
I really should seek help. Im 32yr old (so only driving for 16yrs) and this 99' Miata is my 18th car.

Yeah, that's about where I was at 23. It slowed down a lot over the past several years. I've owned the NC for over 2 years and my Mazda6 for 5 years (this month).
The search has begun for a 6 replacement.....I think. I haven't decided for sure if I am ready to sell her. She's been such a great car.

Man... 21 here and on the second car. I would probably have been on car number 1 still if I didn't wrap it around a tree.

OK so I am changing my opinion of the wax I used. After this rain we have had this week, my car looks like it has no wax on it at all. The water is not beading up. It is sheeting and just looks awful. My buddy who used Zaino Brothers on his cars, they look great and the water is still beading up beautifully like he waxed it yesturday! So maybe at first glance there was no inherent difference between Meguairs wax and Zaino Brothers. But obviously now there is a massive difference between the two. I have used Zaino Brothers for the past three years and I guess I needed a reminder of why I spent that kind of money on car wax/polish, cause its worth it. So my product review is... if you can afford it, buy Zaino Brothers. Thumbs down for Meguiars.

Thoughts about Mothers?

It has been years since I have used Mothers. So really it wouldn't be fair to give it a comparison at this point. But I hope that a Mothers wax certainly lasts longer then this Meguiars wax did. If it stops raining, looks like Ill be waxing again this weekend.

I'm using Chemical Guys M-Seal right now, nice and wet looking, been through 3-4 rain showers and a couple of washes without a reduction in gloss or beading (perceived protection). Looking at about $20 online, I got mine for around $12 on sale...

Which Meguiars wax did you use? I use the Gold Class and it lasts quite sometime before water even thinks about sticking to the paint :dunno:
I also apply mine with a 6"DA and let it sit for awhile.

It was the Deep Crystal System. I probably should have used the Gold Glass, I have used it before and it was OK. It did well. But whatever, I like to try new things find out what works and what doesn't. Because I have found, just because something cost the most doesn't mean it is the best. But certainly the Deep Crystal stuff is no good.

+1 for the Gold Class. I used it on the last few cars I have done. Good stuff. I used to use the Mothers products. Also good. The Gold Class is less dust. Actually, virtually none.
