I still have not made definite plans for my looming b-day yet... But not a bad idea.

Sooooo.........is anything going to come out of this? I think a big Southside grill-out for Eric's birthday sounds like as good excuse as any other.

Well of course I agree. :D They say for now that there's a small chance of rain on Friday during the day and mostly sunny Saturday, but with the storms brewing in the Gulf and elsewhere, we'll see how that changes.
I'm off Friday so I could start prepping for a cookout if that's what everyone would be interested in. Or if there are a lot of people interested in coming down we might have to find a larger location (we could grill out in the old SaveRite parking lot Friday night and confuse the IA kids  ). I guess the first step is to see how many people are actually interested and would be willing to contribute to the food/drink stuffs.

There's a "meet" every Friday night down here, attendance always varies, but they do discuss it on IA in it's own thread. Nothing big though.

If it's Friday night I could probably make it to wherever. Drinks/Chips/Potato Salad? Who's going to bring what? I can bring a Frisbee! :D

Let's call it Friday evening, probably at my dad's place since it has more room than my house, which doesn't leave a lot of time for planning. Let's start a potential list of attendees. If enough people want to come out we can figure out supplies.

Well if it is private property and not the Save-Rite parking lot I'll bring beer too! Is everyone cool with Yuengling? I'll try to bring an actual food item too. Eric, you're the host. What time are we kicking off your B-day festivities?
I might bring one guest.
RotorNutFD3S
08-19-2009, 05:40 AM
Drinks of the alcoholic nature are fine, just please no getting wasted.
I'll talk to my dad today about having the cookout at his place, it shouldn't be a problem. Guests of course are fine and invited as long as they can act right.
As far as time, with it being Friday and people working, what would be best?

If y'all can wait till Saturday, we could use my place. I work till midnight on Friday. I have a big grill, plenty of room for frisbee throwing, and lots of cold beer. I live about 4 miles west of Atlanta Motor Speedway.

Sounds like a move to Saturday might be a better idea... Weather is supposed to be nicer too.

08-19-2009, 03:43 PM
OK, so I had something come up that is rather important to take care of Friday afternoon and I'm not sure how long it will take, so Saturday is a definite go. Sounds like jcmkam1990 is willing to host, which is better for me, my dad is having some people over Saturday and that somewhat hinders my ability to host.
We making a day event out of this or what?

Saturday day means I'll have to politely "uninvite" myself.
Sorry, but getting out of a Saturday shift probably won't happen this late in the game. Happy birthday anyway, and I'll just see everyone at the next meet!

Anyone else interested in this? I know people come down to AMS all the time for autocross, so don't complain about the distance. :)

I think Jenn and I should be able to make it..I have to get clearance from her though
I'll be back down there on Sunday for the Auto-X anyway.
Jim, you ever get a lift put in that garage?
jcmkam1990
08-21-2009, 07:58 AM
1PM sounds fine. No lift as I am renting. No one would finance due to it being a 1 bedroom. Once I sell the house back in North Carolina, I can pay cash for it. I will provide brats and burgers. I have some sodas and beer. The only thing I don't have is many chairs. My number is 704-860-7334. I do work from 2pm till midnight today, and work is usually too busy for me to take calls.

Thanks for providing the brats and burgers! Do you need me or anyone to bring anything else?

I got 20 burgers, 15 brats, 2 packs of hot dogs, 5 different 2 liter sodas, iced tea, and 2.5 cases of beer. If someone wants to bring a bottle of ketchup and mustard that would be great. If you want tomatoe or lettuce, I forgot to get that. I do have cheese and onions. Also some Korean Kimchee if you are brave.

When you get to the end of the cul de sac, there will be 2 driveways. Mine is slightly to the left. You will see a very very old rundown house. I am in the yellow barn looking structure behind the house.
