I was out in the parts truck doing deliveries, sitting at a red light on 41 up by Day's Chevrolet and the Walmart. Suddenly, whammo! Pull over into a little strip mall, and this feller in a black Datsun pickup had V-ed the front of his truck on my trailer hitch. Coolant spewing everywhere, fan blades shorn off, lights busted, fenders all cocked out....

Didn't want to, but I asked if we could call the police, since it was a company truck he had impaled his on. Cop mentions, as he's writing the whole scene up, that he drives a Saturn Ion, so we start BSing about Saturn and the hopes of a Saturn pickup. He made fun of me for driving a Silverado with Saturn logos and Cadillac wheels. Oh well.

Poor feller got a following too closely citation that the cop didn't wanna give him. I told him the hookup on getting a radiator for his truck and offered him a lift, but luckily he wasn't too far away from home. Turns out him and his buddy work for a company that's taking Doraville apart (the GM plant, not the town), so all of us were BSing about GM, the US economy, and the bailout. Fun little conversation.

Made it through without a scratch on my person, though the parts truck was a bit chewed up on the bumper. Of course, my very next stop I managed to trip and fall in the parking lot and freaking KO my damn knee on some gravel. I guess I just got more grace on my *** with a wheel in my hands than on my feet.

 at the last part.

Glad no one was hurt seriously. Rear end collisions like that suck.

Size disparity was hilarious. Big old honking 2000 Chevy Silverado 1500 long bed versus an '83 Datsun Pickup. Like a flea running into an elephant. Props to him though, he was driving a stickshift. He let off the clutch and couldn't hit the brake or the clutch fast enough to stop, so the thing just kinda jumped forward. Tell you though, fan blades hitting engine block is loud as ****.

Glad you made it out ok. Any pics of the damage?

Sadly no, but just imagine a black beater Datsun pickup with its front end v-ed in by about fifteen inches and you should have it.

Sounds like the front end of my RX7 after I hit a fire hydrant.

Today was must have been the day, full moon tonight, right? Rear ended on 85, minimal damage, no one hurt, but after a painful lesson learned, I ALWAYS call the cops. Accident reports are your friends people. The other guy was cool, felt bad for him as someone three or four cars ahead cut off the whole line of traffic. Anyways, I will have to call my insurance, again, tomorrow. Second time in a year that someone decided my rear bumper needed to be replaced. Wish I could afford to bump up to the Mazdaspeed rear...

****, I'm ready to go now! Although I just heard the CCSD on the PA system up on 29 just now yelling at some driver to pull over. Might walk up there yelling "What's all the ****ing noise about?! Don't you know people are trying to sleep *******?!" :D

maybe the full moon had something to do with my headlight switch melting?

maybe it's the fact that you have a BMW?
