Went up to the mountains on Sunday. I've never seen more perfect driving weather. Vivid colors, perfect temperature, minimal traffic. Best one I've been on yet, out of quite a few.
Was supposed to be a larger group, but some people bailed last minute.*Cough*Jack*cough*. :P

We ran for a while and then stopped at T.W.O to check the map. Pulling out a really gorgeous FC Turbo II fell in behind us and gave chase all the way to Richard Russel where we stopped to talk. Ended up being a really cool guy; we ran the rest of the day with him.

Looped over to Helen to get some lunch.

Then ran 75 north out of Helen...Stopped at the store at Neels Gap for a break...That's where we met Sasquatch...

Oh wow, that FC is gorgeous. Running the same RB exhaust I had on my TII convertible. I can't wait until the Miata is running again. I'll be living in it for a while I've missed it so much, and some mountain runs like this are definitely in the plans!
And WTF man?! He had his hood up and you don't take an engine shot!!! :P

Now that's what I'm talking about! :)
He need new shroud. Mine brokeded there too. And no filter on turbo? What's he trying to do, suck up squirrels?!
But I bet she flew though...

Yeah it was a nice as hell car. Technically it's sold already, he was having one last fling with it. A new Cooper S is its replacement. :)

Well at the rate your going, I'll have a Miata by then. :P[hr]

We should do a mountain run on a satuday some time, because there would also be no traffic due to football games.

Looks like a hell of a day. And technically I didn't so much bail out as not commit to it! Some of those irresponsible moving shots at the end look fantastic.

^We don't do huge turnouts on our runs due to morons who might get us in trouble ;)

far less eventful than IA's last run up there where some idiot in his damn Dodge Dakota (yes, the truck) flipped off the edge... he swears that "it handles better than most cars"

We were up there that day, that day had too much action for me. Bike flying off the mountain, truck flip, another bike wreck, etc.

This is definitely the pretty time to go up there, as long as you don't get stuck behind some slow poke. I was up there today for work, I should have drove the miata instead of the old 626... That being said, I still passed some old gray hair poking along in his new mustang GT convertible.

Yeah, we chased the fire truck that was heading for the scene of the truck flippage, lol. And the day of the fabled bike chase...
I like sticking to 4 cars or less. Having just two (and a third later in the day) was great. Easier to keep track of just you and one other car, and easier to really haul *** with less likelihood of complications (or drawing too much attention). The main reason that I don't just go by myself is just a precaution for something on my car breaking. I'd rather not be stranded and alone. ;)

Who owns the S2K?
My buddy Brendan. He's not much of a forum-goer though. I don't think he's on the Atlanta S2k site. It's a really nicely done car though. Megan coilovers, Cusco rollbar, Invidia exhaust (loud as hail but in a good way), the list goes on but I can't remember most of it. All of the bases have been covered, at any rate. :)

Yeah, stranded and alone sucks. Happened to me with the Miata in Biloxi, MS. No good!

I had the Invidia on mine a while back, I sold it due to how much it droned.

^Yeah, that it does, but it doesn't get driven all the time. And the sound it makes in the upper registers is incredible.

It sounds good, I really liked the way mine sounded. I paid $125 for it and sold it a couple months later for $175. :D

Yeah, enough to make one's ears bleed. My buddy Scott had the Invidia duals on his AP1, along with a test pipe and a Megan header. That was obnoxiously loud!

Did he sell them to a guy name Tylor in Peachtree City?
RotorNutFD3S

IDK who the guy was. IIRC, the guy had a yellow AP1, kinda beat up too.

Oh nevermind then. A guy I know (I wouldn't really consider him a friend) bought a very similar setup and was just curious.

Ah. Yeah, this guy was probably from north Atlanta, I'm pretty sure he was in their car group, independent tuners.

Nope, just went with a quieter exhaust, forget which one, and now he's in the middle of building a motor for boost.

4 or 5 cars up there works fine.
