So to celebrate the call that our loan for the new house was finalized by the underwriters today, Jenn and I went out to dinner. After dinner, we decided to go drive through some nice neighborhoods in Marietta/Roswell. Well coming down Johnson Ferry right at the river, this dumb b!tch in her Lexus LS and on the phone, is driving with her damn brights on. Well she gets behind me at the (red) light at Riverside Dr. Having enough of stupid people on the phone in Atlanta, I finally snapped. I unbuckled my seatbelt and leaned out the window and yelled with a good bit of anger "TURN OFF YOUR F*CKING BRIGHTS !!". Jenn starts chuckling, the dumb wh0re actually turns her brights off and the guy next to me looks over and says "don't those people make you mad?", to which I replied "i've had enough of these dumb people...gotta do whatcha gotta do".
This was for all the times I wish I had taken action on someone for being stupid...and my God did it feel good. I bet I made a few people "wtf" at what happened

It is frightening to think that people incapable of only driving are out there multitasking in their cars and doing worse job of it all. I've always said that those are the people that have never had an auto accident impact their lives. One day...

good one man. Were in the house buying process too, almost had one but we & seller could not agree on the price, so were off to find another. Damn frustrating experience, I'm glad to hear you guys are almost through it!

We're building so there really wasn't any negotiating. Well, we got some really nice free upgrades. Great deals out there right now though. We found some really nice houses but when we found this neighborhood and the floor plans, we couldn't pass it up.

building is possibly the most hassle free way to do it, and you get exactly what you want.

You will get exactly want you want, but building a house is certainly anything but hassle free.
Have built two of them.

I've done both and it's very different. Building certainly take a lot longer. I didn't run into any snags when I bought my first existing house so it really wasn't that bad. So far, no snags with the build so it's just a whole lot of sit and wait. It's really cool to watch it go up though.

One of the things I do when building a house which has paid off many times is to take your digital camera and, after the framing is done and all wiring and plumbing is in place, take a picture of every wall in the house. This results in a virtual X-ray of every wall. Very handy later when you have plumbing, electrical or renovation issues and you don't remember what is hidden behind the sheet rock.

Good on you, I friggin hate that ****. I had the opposite experience on Monday without the opportunity to tell anyone off. It was pouring down rain Monday morning in Birmingham and I get passed on the interstate by some Soccer Mom Assault Vehicle doing 90... srsly? The kicker was it was a silver SUV that once it got about 6 feet ahead of you was completely hidden by its own spray... without its lights on. Just asking to get run into. Grr...
And big congrats on the house :)

Being in a 'vert makes that really easy. I've done it a couple times just spinning around in my seat and yelling and people got the idea
There was one time coming back from eric's where a guy actually flashed his low beams at me, so I flashed my high beams at him and he turned his off. People really need more comprehensive exams when getting their license.
