Brian, you should list what year cam sensor you need. They are 90-93, 94-97, and 99-05. Also 96-05 have both cam and crank sensors.
If you're adding a standalone to the car, then I prefer the early optical style CAS, but they're starting to fail :(

11-16-2008, 07:34 PM
K-Man,
I might need (1) frankenstein bolt. I'm sure you can come up with that. Maybe hardtop side strikers too, depending on how the hardtop fits with the non-hardtop version rollbar. I'll see, might not be able to use side strikers at all. I know those are kind of hard to find on a used car though.
Oh, and a 99 owner's book might be nice to have if you have one.
:)
metalman
11-16-2008, 07:38 PM
Frankenbolt I should have.
Will look through my owners manuals and see if I have a 99 left.
I dont have side strikers...unless you can mod front strikers to work.

Mike, you need a BEGi or similar under radiator scooper. For serial.

Since when are you having cooling issues on the street? Run it on track days with your stock bumper.
Doppelgänger
11-17-2008, 10:44 AM
not really having cooling issues.. but i want to reduce underhood temps/radiant heat by the turbo and i need the splitter for downforce on the front of the car..... to go with the eventual wing that will be on the back (using a spare trunk lif of course)

Kurt, need to know tonight if possible if you have a clutch slave cylinder (going on a '96 5-speed if it matters) that we can get tomorrow. If you do, he'll drive his car.
ben91
11-21-2008, 09:16 PM
all 90.5-2005 slave cylinders are the same, for what that's worth
the internal parts should all be the same from 90+
If Kurt doesn't have a slave, I'd be positive that you can pick up a rebuild kit tomorrow no problem.
RotorNutFD3S
11-21-2008, 09:19 PM
I thought so since the transmissions were all similar.
Is there a Mazda dealer up there somewhere?
ben91
11-21-2008, 09:23 PM
There's dealers all over. Rick Case is by Gwinnett Place Mall.
And parts stores too. It doesn't have to come from Mazda.
Make sure you ask for the slave cylinder "Internal Parts Kit" because that's how Mazda lists it and the guy at the parts counter probably won't know that a rebuild kit exists. They prefer to sell the whole $70 cylinder instead of the $17 parts kit.
RotorNutFD3S
11-21-2008, 09:24 PM
Ah. Ok. I usually like OEM when it comes to parts like this, but if a parts store one is good enough, that's cool. I'll see if Kurt has one anyway just because we'll be there possibly picking up that softtop anyway.
ben91
11-21-2008, 09:29 PM

Slave cylinders shouldnt be that expensive. When my z's slave cylinder went out, i took a trip to autozone, lol, and got one for like 10 bucks brand new with a lifetime warrenty.
metalman

Edit: I was wrong. Looks like Mazda quality control isn't what it should be on 'new' parts. Some casting flashing was on the bolt holes gumming them up. Cleaned that up and the bolts went right in..
