Might have it?!
Let's put it this way, if Kurt doesn't have it, you won't find it in the southeast region!
Speaking of gauge clusters, do you have any of the orange needles?
Oh and thanks for the parts for Sean's car! He loved the gauge cluster cover because he didn't have the chrome rings to begin with! :)

No. NB parts cars are a bit pricey compared to NAs
I have at least some of the intake, the exhaust manifold, the oem muffler/tail pipe (you would still need the midpipe) & the truck stuff too I think.
I thought I had an NB trans but I dont. Theyre not too hard to come up with though.

I Just broke the TPS wire harness on my 97. Would you have a pigtail with connector?
Dont think I do, unless its identical to a 1.6 automatic TPS connector.
I am thinking the 1.8 is different no?
I just had to pick up this same item for my build. Alot of Mazdas use the same wiring connectors. I got one off a 4 dr Mazda at Pull a Part for cheap. We also picked up a specific connector for a friends Miata off a 929.

Kurt, I'm interested in some information and possibly a couple parts (depending on if I can do what I want to do legally in my class).
Can the alternator and water pump pulleys from a 1.8 miata ("ribbed" belt) fit on the 1.6 alternator and WP? If so, how much would you want for those?

They should fit...BUT, what about the crank pulley?
The 1.6 has a v belt type on that...and the 1.8 doesnt.
How are you going to remedy that??

I've got an under drive pulley from a 1.8 that I may be forced to use. Problem is my car is a 1992 and the engine I'm building is a 1991.5. Technically, the 1992 never had a long nose crank, just the big nose. The pulley from the 1.8 will fit the big nose if I have to swap cranks (I'm waiting on a rules determination before I do anything), but if I use that pulley, I'll need the alt and WP pulleys from the 1.8.
metalman
10-21-2008, 03:55 PM
ahhh I see. I know I have a 1.8 alternator, not sure what I have for WP pulleys though.
That should be easy to get though.

10-21-2008, 03:57 PM
Ok. Let me know what you'd want for them and I'll let you know if I need them (I'm still going to get that starter and the block end plate from you). If they're cheap enough I may just get them regardless and save myself a trip.

10-21-2008, 04:07 PM
Okay, just checked and I do have a ribbed WP pulley too
Sweet, good deal. And I just thought of something else... assuming I have to go the big-nose route, do you have a big nose crank from a 1.6 in good condition sitting around? If you do, I can just drop this one in instead of having to disassemble the engine that's already in the car to get it out... Damn it, my total keeps getting higher. All Kurt's hearing is do you have a *cha ching!* and a *cha ching!* that I can put on a *cha ching!*

 with the economy as it is I have instituted a $250 minimum charge for any part...except used turn signal bulbs which are only $150 each! hahahahaha j/k...
I dont have the crankshaft. I was wiped out of 1.6 cores by a vendor.
The only crank I have outside of a motor right now is out of a 99....and the only
motor I have is a small crank 1.6 from a 90.
amaff
10-21-2008, 04:20 PM
Hmm, time to make some phone calls then. In any case hold the rest of those parts for me. If I can get a 92 / 93 crank, I'm just going to swap that in.

hey question you happen to have a gauge surround for a 90-93(not sure if there is a different in the 90-93 and 94-97 like there is for a radio surround)
90-93 are different then 94-7...and I have both.

yea i figured the 90-93 was different due to the small difference in the dashes.
How much BTW??

Yes I do. Need just the core I have it, or the whole plenum if required.

Kurt, the coil pack I got from you was for the earlier 1.6s IIRC. It has the black connector. After comparing with my car (which it doesn't plug in to, unless I'm totally retarded), mine has a different, black / orange connector. Any chance you've got one of those laying around I can trade you for?
Also, you wouldn't happen to have the block off for a stock no-A/C car for the evaporator would you?

I need a few things for a 95 model.
Power window regulators (both of my windows take about a minute to roll up)
Not to detract from Kurt's business, but have you tried cleaning the rails out per the Miata.net instructions? They have a walkthrough for cleaning the system out, I did it on my mom's '97 when it was doing the same thing and after the cleaning they rolled up and down MUCH faster.

Hmmmm on the coil pack I have no freakin idea what youre talking about...guess I'd have to see it. I dont have another 1.6 coil, nor have I ever run into any compatibility issues with 1.6 coils.
Block off? You mean duct piece that goes in place of an evap unit? If so, yes.
Thats what early cars with no AC have.

Proper 'book' method is dash removal. A pain, but not as bad as it sounds.

True. Also often switches are the culprit.

naa, there's a part from mazda. I'll have to get it from mazdaspeed then. And I didn't think there would be any compatibility issues, but it ain't workin... I'll have a look later on (tonight / tomorrow maybe) and see if I can't make it work.

I dont know if the power windows use cables like the manual ones, but i had the cables come out of the clips, making it a little tougher to roll.

Yeah, I'm just getting to know this car. I tried to get a tube of that silicone grease from the local Honda dealer and they wanted $25 for a tube of it. I tried lubricating the rubber vent window gasket with some lithium and it helped on the passenger side, but I think I'm going to have to get into the door to find the real problem.
This car has had little if any maintenance that I can tell. But it cranks, drives, and has four new tires and new clutch and master cylinders, and I got it for a song, so I'm happy.

Read this and try it: http://www.miata.net/garage/power_window_fix.html
And then make sure your switch isn't the culprit as well: http://www.miata.net/garage/powerwin/index.html

No. I do have a decklid and a 'race quality' OEM hood...but not in black.
i'm looking for any color hood so i can remove the paint and see how raw aluminum looks. a hood with ****ty paint would be ideal, but whatever. if you'll let one go for the cheaps, i'll drive to the dyno day with no hood :D
edit: amaff I might be willing to trade my hood for a ****ty paint one and cash.

The problem with that is this, you really need a perfectly straight hood for polishing. In my world a straight hood brings the pretty much same $$ regardless of paint quality. (unless its really some rare color) In other words, ****ty paint gets no discount.
The NA hood(s) I have right now have issues that would require minor straightening/fill & paint...and therfore will work a a discount item for a PAINTED race car but not for a polish.

Kurt, if you could, please keep an eye out for a black trunk for me. As for the hood, my problem is that mine already is "race quality" lol
edit: amaff I might be willing to trade my hood for a ****ty paint one and cash.
It's not a ****ty paint one, but the previous owner ran under a trailer hitch so there's a 3x3"-ish square on the front of the hood that's dented in just a tick. I probably have pics on my photobucket (can't get to PB from work, go to the website, search for amaff and go from there)
lmk how much you want for it. I don't feel like fixing it, if the price is right I'd be glad to swap with you.
