Attaching Pictures

I can attach a picture just fine in the middle of a thread. But if I try to start a thread with the picture, it won't even upload the picture, if that makes any sense. Tried both methods with the same picture in multiple sections.

how do you attach a pic? I only see the insert image button, which makes me host elsewhere.

You have to hit the New Reply button and it's under the text field.
