View Full Version : MX5Atlanta Install Day Location Suggestions

So it seems like an install day is a popular idea. The next logical step is a location, so if you're willing to propose your place for a day of Miata installations please do so!
Space is a necessity. Tools can be brought, and well a lift would just be incredible.

I would be interested if i have a rollbar by then.

I would be interested. Probably won't have anything to install, but I would come just to help out and learn a bit!

So im thinking Air tools might be the best thing to have on a day like this.
Roadster
10-06-2008, 11:03 PM
I use nothing but good old manual tools. Haven't run into anything that required air as of yet...After clutch jobs, suspension, pulling and dismantling an engine...
But yes, air tools make things quicker and easier to destroy. :P
I can offer up a place if need be. Its not a shop by any means but... I can fit 8 miatas in the driveway, a few in the front yard, and then the cul-de-sac...
I have some air tools, but my compressor just crapped out so...
Things I will need to install:
Soft top
Roll bar
fender flares
springs/struts
wheels

i have a lift and a decent sized shop at my grandparents place, im sure they wont mind us using it for a while. :)
oh, and air tools. bring your own tools if were gonna use my place though, dont want any of my grandpas stuff getting broken.
Sounds like a good idea to me :)

This could be a win-win for everyone to do it there, that way, if someone breaks a part or finds they need something else, they walk inside and buy it. No more mad scrambles to the dealership, hoping they have something in stock...

10-07-2008, 02:15 PM
OK, so my next question is, how much do we have to pay to have a tech day there for lift use, etc.?
ben91
10-07-2008, 02:30 PM
We only have 2 lifts. No money needs to change hands for use of the facility on a Saturday. Buy me a sammich or something and we'll call it square.
Sounds like plan. Where is the shop?
JennB
10-07-2008, 02:57 PM
Ooooo... Mazmart.. that may to too far of a drive for us. lol
I'll show up for a while and partake in foods and photographing. Just say when.

ben91
10-07-2008, 03:42 PM

The MT90 should be fine. Some people seem to think that 1qt MT90 and 1qt MTL is more ideal in the 6spd, but Mazda calls for MT90 and it's what's in stock.
