Taxi driver charged in city smash
June 9th, 2009




A WOMAN was lucky to escape with only minor injuries after this crash in Darwin city yesterday.
The 37-year-old woman was driving on Daly St away from the Esplanade when a taxi allegedly pulled in front of her.
She crashed into it and the collision drove both vehicles across on to a median strip on the western side of Woods St.
Her Mazda MX5 had its nose smashed in and the Toyota Prius taxi's wheel was broken off when the car hit a pole.
The woman was taken to Royal Darwin Hospital and treated for neck and wrist injuries. She was later discharged.
Police said the taxi driver has been charged with driving without due care.

Bull**** are they saving the environment. With those healthy lithium batteries and motors that are manufactured throughout the country. They are not really green, they just get good gas mileage and are driven by short sighted self loving bastards.
