Don't know if anyone is in the market right now, but figured I'd pass the information along.
There is a buy going on a Zilvia.net for Stance Coilovers. Evidently really good price + free shipping and the special is not just for S-chassis owners, he's including Miata, S2000, Scoobys, 350/G35, etc.

Steve, tell Laurabeth that she doesn't need to go any lower than the ride height of my car.... I scrape over every speed bump as is because of the extra bracing that the NBs have. Sure you could take bracing off for more clearance, but thats only something a SoCal fag would do.
I still swear by Koni/H&R combo is really a sweetspot suspension for the NB for well under $1000.

I'm sorry, but i can't see the justification of spending that much on suspension that is only known for how low it can go and not about ride quality or functionality. $50 says that a well matched spring and coil setup would perform better and be more comfortable for less money.:wtf:
Sawyer
10-07-2008, 02:21 PM
I was just curious on how much the discount was going to be.
For the kind of driving that I do, I couldn't justify spending the extra money on coilovers.

Many people on S2Ki run BC's and don't seem to have any issues. Just like the Stances (well duh, obviously since they are just rebranded) are known more for how much of a dump they can give instead of the handling aspect.

Doppelgänger
10-09-2008, 09:19 AM

I have found the KYB AGXs to be far superior to oem shocks, and
a good replacement for them.
Even when paired with the right lowering springs they work fine.
Are they as good as a Tein Flex setup? (or similar) No.
But they dont cost nearly as much either.

Mine were great on my previous Miata (along with the Tein S-Techs, yeah yeah, cringe away, lol). Simon has the same setup on his as well and it handles great. I dunno why people knock on the AGX's so hard. I bought them used (from our very own Kurt) and put a lot of hard miles on them and they never started leaking. They were very composed over uneven/bumpy pavement. For the money I think they're pretty damn good.
Probably going to go with the Megan coilovers this time around. They come out around the same price as a spring/damper/bumpstop combo cobbled together. Might as well have ride height adj. thrown in if I'm spending the same amount.

10-16-2008, 09:49 AM
Standard GC setup that MANY use is 450/375 IIRC...so in reality, despite Doppels disdain of this product, it will probably be just fine for street cruising. ;)
Doppelgänger
10-16-2008, 09:59 AM
Oh, i know it'll be fine for street crusing.... at a ride height that's not 1" off the ground. I'd expect that a company that's making a suspension specifically for "how low it can go" would increase the spring rate accordingly so it's more useful for the 1" of suspension travel it's going to use.

Well does the strut travel really get sacrificed when your just lowering the strut inside it's coilover body?
metalman
10-16-2008, 06:00 PM
With the design of the shock body I betcha a set of fairly 'dumped' Stance coilovers still has as much travel as a standard "proven to work well' Koni/GC "lowered' setup...maybe even more. The Koni GC setup travel in the rear is virtually nill, thats why progressive bumpstops help alot.
I think we're doing alot of 'bench racing' here on the Stance without any real data to back it up.

Why did it take them so long to process the order?
it wasnt the processing that took a week, i had to wait for stance to get the shipment of coilovers in, which came in last friday, so they shipped it today.

Yeah, they had to rebadge them. We already discussed this. Keep up man.

If I were you, I'd call them and ask for a tracking #. It's been what, two weeks now??

10-25-2008, 01:00 AM
^^ Yeah, it couldn't hurt.
When we ordered my Track Dog Racing splitter, the website said that it ships out in 1-2 days. Well 2 or 3 weeks later we still hadn't received it. Well when we called up there they still hadn't even shipped it out yet! So much for 1-2 days...
Always ask for a tracking number.

i did, but they didnt give it to me, they only told me that stance was shipping it out monday and id have it by friday, but yeah i guess i can call stance and not the company ordered from..

yeah thats how i was last time and they told me that they were shipped, so im just gonna do what you said. but thats the other thing, im going to contact stance directly first, because they ship the suspension direct from manufacture
RotorNutFD3S
10-26-2008, 11:28 PM
Well good luck with it in any case. I've had similar transactions before, a little patience (which I don't have much of when I've spent my money) is necessary.

Any idea when they will be in?

Sounds to me like your getting the run around on this one. Who did you send payment too? That's who should be supplying you with a tracking #. If indeed Intense has it, then it should be Stance's responsibility to provide it to you.
RotorNutFD3S
10-28-2008, 09:16 AM
If indeed Intense has it, then it should be Stance's responsibility to provide it to you.
Wha? :wtf: Has what?
It does sound like you're getting the runaround. The guy on Zilvia.net is just the middle man. After you paid him, he should have placed the order with Stance, who then ships to where he specified, which in this case should be you. Stance therefore should know when your order went out, by what shipment method, and the tracking info.
MeFryRice
10-28-2008, 09:28 AM
If Intense has the tracking #, it should still be Stance's responsibility to provide him with such information.
RotorNutFD3S
10-28-2008, 09:30 AM
Oh, I see what you meant. But yeah, that should be the case. Meaning that there are two parties that should know the tracking information.

10-28-2008, 12:21 PM
Did you use your credit card on paypal Derick? If so, I'ld call up and cancel it all if it's not with you soon. Then if it ever arrives tell them to give you the money to ship it back and if they never do you keep them anyway.
You've shown more patience than I'm capable of in this escapade.
Doppelgänger
10-28-2008, 12:31 PM
So wait, there is one guy acting like a middle man to Intense, who is just a middle company to Stance who gets their stuff from Buddy Club who gets their stuff from whatchamacallit company in Asia? Wow that's a lot of cost sharing... I bet those things cost about $200 to the original manfacturer

lol alright. i got it all sorted out a few minutes ago with intense motorsports. heres the dealie-o
1) 30 minutes phone call to intense.
2) had them explain to me why its been taking so long
reason- he called stance to check the order, they got the shipment in 2 weeks ago, then they have to order their own shipping supplies (IE the added week it took) so they got the stuff in monday, and he said they shipped it out yesterday.
3) i WILL have a tracking number in my email tonight.
so 45 minutes later i got it all straight with intense. they apologized for my waiting, and told me to call them directly if i have any further problems.
awesome. so thats up to date as of 10 minutes ago. lmao  i did all this while sitting at work.

I FINALLY GOT MY TRACKING NUMBER!
however. it has not been shipped because not all the tracking information is available right now...
i dont know what that means... if it has been shipped or it just hasnt been updated yet.
but i DO have a tracking number.
i had to PM the company (intense motorsports) on zilvia.net to actually get a response. i just politely said the following. I need my tracking number. gave them all my order information and i got my tracking number! :D
further updates when i check the tracking for the millionth time. i did do an estimated shipping time on ups.com and it said about 2 days from IL to GA. just a random fact

after all the frustration. i went and saw saw 5 (great movie, but you have to have seen the previous 4. and have payed attention.) now back to the topic so jack is not mad.
i came home, and decided lets google my tracking number... lol
so i did. and to my surprise..........
its being shipped via FEDEX. ( i was trying to use ups to track my package :wtf: :facepalm.)
so its official. intense motorsports is a real company.
and stance uses fedex to ship.
it never dawned on me that i should try OTHER SHIPPERS.
anyways the fedex regular ground shipping is two days from the date it left the fedex in IL which was 11:38 pm Oct. 29 so im expecting it late friday.
updates will follow!
