In order to trade your soft top for a hardtop it will require you to have
significant cash to throw into the deal....I assume you realize that?

GraffitiPanda

i realize this... i was just hoping there might be someone to say "OH BOY WHAT A DEAL :B "

Yeah, can't say that a ~$1000 hard top = $300 soft top...

MeFryRice

Why would someone want to trade for a soft-top anyways? I'm just curious...

Sawyer

I have no idea....

I've seen this trade happen once since I've been into Miatas.
It was a brand new OEM uninstalled NB soft top, frame, rain rail, and hardware for a hardtop that had cracked glass and was scratched to hell and back.

Nick, if you're going to flat black the car... please don't do it with rattle cans. Save up the couple hundred dollars for a body shop to mask the car off , prep and apply a satin black with a good gun.

That actually doesn't seem like too bad of a trade.[hr]

I agree. Rattle Can paint jobs FTL.

Not a big fan of flat black. But I agree with Mike, if you must, get it done properly.

Or spend $40 on a decent gun (I got a new Campbell gravity fed gun for that), $5 on an air/water seperator, find a compressor, and go for it. Just do a good job.

Make sure to take your time as well and don't rush so take all weekend if you need to.

I don't imagine it would cost too much to have a shop do it because there isn't a lot of materials used and can be done rather quickly by someone with experience.

True. But he seems like the DIY sort of person, so I was pointing out that a good gravity gun would not cost too much to do a better job than rattling it.

Since we're already in thread drift mode...
Why flat/satin black? If i were me I'd repair/paint only the white parts that need it like bumpers...and keep the panda/graffiti theme....maybe clear the graffiti art once its finished. You could even add some funky colored wheels to compliment your artwork too if you wanted. It would be unique for a Miata. Flat black works on some cars...to me on a Miata its blah. Plus its been done about 10,000,000 times by broke *** teenagers everywhere! :D

I might just get it repainted white. That's why I'm trying to find a replacement set of headlight covers hood and trunk. As spairs.
The clear started chipping... So there is need for concern.

Ahh so you'd keep your artwork panels as wall hangings?? :)
What clear is chipping?
I have a hood, HL covers, and decklid. The question is....Do you have the cash?? hehehe :D We're not talking tons of money here.
White NAs rock BTW.

 I owned it.
It was my DD for about 4 yrs.
And..it was also owned by Hector of RSpeed 'fame'...who did the
turbo install on it...among other things.
That was a joke that locals would get...if they know the car.
