So i've been having trouble with one of them and the other one took a dump too. Anyway, I need to get some new ballast and would like to get some locally. Anyone?

What style connector is used on the ballast?

Are these eBay ballasts?

I would assume so.

What company makes them and how long have you had them? Depending on whether or not you bought them on eBay, most manufacturers offer a warranty of at least 1-yr.

I don't know. I have the box and it's some Japanese brand... Gech? I couldn't find anything about it. It's got one harness with an oval connector and two wires/connectors coming from the ballasts.

No offense but it sounds like a knock-off brand.

Is it possible for you to provide pics of the harness? Each company uses different connectors for some reason. :wtf:

Not until I get off work.

It does look identical (connector wise) to this.

I'll let you have the ones off my car since it's not running, they are the same. And you can buy me a set to replace them since you're probably running around with no lights now. They're also just eBay ballasts, not much time on them either.

Well, i found a guy locally who will sell me a brand new pair for $80 w/ 1 year warranty and i can get them tonight. If I hadn't heard back from him just a few minutes ago, i'd be taking you up on that Eric.

Yeah, would have sucked if you had lost the battle in court over some BS ticket and then gotten pulled over again for headlight issues...

OK, i got home and inspected everything and found that the one bulb was getting cloudy. Found the problem. I wonder if that caused the ballast to go dead. I re-tested it with the good bulb and it was still acting up, so i know that ballast is indeed bad too. Guess i'll be need a whole new kit :/

Hey Steve, did you ever find any bulbs laying around there?

MeFryRice

oh crap, I meant to tell you on Sunday. I looked and the only sizes we are the conventional D1S and D2R sizes. The ballasts we have doesn't have the right connector that your looking for either. :(

Yeah but how long before they burn out?? I'd spend the extra money to buy quality bulbs.

Wow, prices have dropped then. That's cool.

My buddy has a set of eBay HIDs that he got for around $90 shipped, he runs them anytime the car is running. Solid 2 1/2 years now and no problems or dimming.

Thats surprising to hear, I figured the ballasts would have given out already.

Do you really think that there are that many different factories making these things? Every kit I've seen has looked EXACTLY the same with a different label. Almost all of them work great for a long time.

Hell, for $60, get a set as a back up too.

Different brands use different materials that can effect the quality of the product. I know that the cheap eBay bulb is manufactured in the same facility as Sylvania, bosch etc.

Yeah, i'm waiting for my paycheck to hit the bank and pay bills to see if i can order a new kit.
