This car has since been sold :( but I'm back with another Miata!
Sale Page: FS: 1995 Mazda Miata -281 HP- Excellent "Finished" Car.
This is the story of my 1995 Mazda Miata. It's a Laguna Blue B Package. It was purchased on March 23rd, 2003 in Florida. Her name is Mia, and yes, she does have her own Myspace page at www.myspace.com/sidewys (http://www.myspace.com/sidewys) .
Since I've owned it, it's been through a lot.
I've been through 17" wheels, 15" wheels, and a bunch of tires.
I've been in one accident, days after I had her repainted in 2008. It was just body damage, no frame damage. Parts were sourced through metalman and mazda, and fixed correctly.
I'm currently on engine #3. #2 was installed, but eventually starting blowing by, and I picked up the current built motor and a 99 head for a great price.
My personalized license plate used to be ZM MX5, but now is SIDEWYS. I want to change it again, as I have outgrown the sideways thing.
This is her when I originally purchased her:

Quite a change then! I like how your car looks but have you thought about ditching the grill? Or maybe painting it black?
LagunaRoadster
05-18-2009, 06:16 PM
Thank you!
Seems like not many people like the grill. I'm a big fan of it personally, and it matches the head light grills.

Eh.... no ones perfect. Anyways. I slide into a curb (failboat) and broke most of the pass side suspension stuff, curbed a wheel and cracked my bumper. Good news though I have purchased the following parts to fix this, and then some other parts (but I'll list those so I can do this all in one post)
http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a364/SIDEWYS/20091109_7773.jpg
http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a364/SIDEWYS/20091109_7779.jpg
New parts:
- Front suspension assemblies (Thanks DarknessPrevails)
- New Foglamps (the old ones glass was cracked prior to this mishap)
- Hardtop mounts
- Rear FM Springs (new style) (To raise the rear up about an inch, so that I can remove some rear camber)
- one KYB AGX shock
- New DRAG DR-31 wheels in gold with FK452 tires
http://www.erzperformance.com/v/vspfiles/photos/DRAGDR31GOLD-2T.jpg http://www.productwiki.com/upload/images/falken_tires_fk_452.jpg
I figured I would get the rear springs, since I have to get the car aligned anyway. I was planning to purchase new wheels and tires prior to this mishap, so those got purchased. I sold the old ones to kylesaess. I got both sides of the suspension parts, as I got a superb deal on them, and my lower driver side control arm was a bit tweaked anyway from a prior incident.
So all is well, it'll just be a bit while I work on the car. Fortunately I am picking up the Suby next week. So I can take my time on working on the Miata.

I'm not too sure of the weight, I forgot to weigh them... I'll do that at some point for ya. I went with drags, as the rotas, same style, MACHIII.net didn't have them after I had ordered, so I just switched to the drags which are very similar.
Thanks for the kind comments! I'll get some group shots with the suby once its all aligned and the front bumper is on.

I'm waiting on a new hood from Chaser Aero.... in the mean time, I sold my OEM style carbon, and the buyer gave me his stock hood which was dented and faded and such. So I doodled on it, thinking it was going to be on there for maybe a week or so while I waited for an estimated arrival date of "Late January, Mid February" for the new vented carbon hood.... needless to say, this has been on here for a while. Here are some pics:

Also, I destroyed my 5 speed last week... so I ordered a 6 speed
I'll get some nice photos whenever this beast is running again.
In the mean time, I sold my Subaru (someone offered me way more than I paid for it )
And I got this:

If the miata would stop dying on me... But seriously, if someone would just let me know when events are going. It sucks having to search through 6 pages of Meetings and Events psots to find that there wasnt a meet set up, or whatever. We need to either have a stickied post with definite meets, or use the calendar here and I would be to some meets.
Thanks for all the compliments everyone!
The suby will be missed, but the G is very useful with four doors. I'll take some better pics sometime soon.
It has 20% tint on the windows, so I guess you don't really see me in it, Steve :)

Stephen, I know you copied what Chaser posted on CR.net, but a raised rear edge with a vent is cowl induction, not extraction. Wonder what that's going to do to the airflow under the hood?
FE3tMX5
07-14-2010, 10:37 AM
Werd. That said, I doubt any pressure introduced at the rear is going to overcome those extractors WHEN they're open. That cowl area could be boxed in as an air source for the intake. :D
