It sold quickly. Anything decent thats priced reasonably usually does.
Its my impression that fuel prices and the like have driven even more folks into the Miata market lately. Its seen as a cheap, reliable, & fun car.

I've come across plenty in that price range, you might just have to travel a little distance to get it.

This one just came up today. Its high miles, but its worth looking at, hes starting at 1200, i bet you could get him below 1g.

Theres nothing wrong with a 1.6, lol, the 1.8 has a little more power, but the 1.6 is a lot leighter, and is hardly faster. The 1.6 has grown on me alot.

Greg

I got it, but on the way home the battery kept cutting out. So I left it at a buddy's house in Kennessaw. I'm going down Saturday night after work to put a new alternator on.

Its clean and only has 83k miles on it! :)

RotorNutFD3S
10-02-2008, 11:34 PM
Before you do the alternator, check the grounds in the trunk. Mine came undone where the ground cable is crimped and connected to the frame and caused many many issues. Simple re-crimp and I was on the way again.

Greg
10-03-2008, 05:47 AM
Oh really?
It sucked, cause we had to jump it at every redlight going through Kennessaw to get to his house. I couldn't use the lights either cause they would dim out, and then it would just start bogging down.
But the battery says 8/08 on it, so I'm assuming its the alternator since it wouldn't charge while driving.

MeFryRice

Hopefully it's not too expensive of a fix for you.

RotorNutFD3S
10-03-2008, 10:49 AM
Hmm... OK. After reading those symptoms, that points more towards the alt. like you're already thinking. When you said "battery cutting out", it sounded like what I had happen to me, which was one second I had power, the next, I abruptly did not.

Doppelgänger
10-03-2008, 11:07 AM
I had an issue on my 96 once where whe i hit the brakes or turned the lighs on it would turn the car off. Turned out that my negative terminal was loose. Clean, tighten and done! But it still sounds like it might be the alt. Did you ever try roll starting the car? Alternator problems are far and few with Miatas, but anything is possible. Once you get it fixed, enjoy the fun and good gas milage!

Greg
10-03-2008, 07:53 PM
I didn't roll start it, but when I picked it up, I drove for about 15-20 min before the 'charge' light came on. Then it just sputtered and died out. Depending on how long we left it hooked up to charge determined how long it stayed running. Thats what makes me think its the alt.
But the neg term was loose.....

Greg

I just ordered a new soft top with a glass window for it too.
