That actually looks like the temp sensor for the gauge in the cluster.

No, we're dealing with the larger one. This is the one that goes directly in the head.

You know what, you could be right. I thought it was the fan switch. IDK for sure though. All I know is it's a flimsy sucker that broke on me tonight. lol

It looks like the one that screws in directly into the head. It goes in from the exhaust side and is sorta under where Greg's spacer goes.

 IDK either, that's why I took a picture of it. :)
All I do know is that this belongs in a port on the back of the head, on the side of the coolant outlet, before the waterneck, or in my case, the spacer.
You can see it on the left side of the coolant outlet.

Greg's has a wiggle issue, which mine had before it broke. So I'm still searching for this piece. Anyone? :)

See if you can find a one that's the same size at the parts store. Worth a shot. I couldn't imagine another car not have the same sized sensor.

Yeah, might give that a shot as well, but would like to have an OEM Mazda part if at all possible. Damn little parts giving me a headache.

I lost mine and had a tough time finding one as well, so much so that I ended up breaking on the new motor and dyno tuning it without one, but that's not such a good idea LOL. I ended up calling planet miata, fwiw

Yeah, I want to make sure that with a new cooling system in place (reroute) and new fan setup that I don't overheat during break-in. lol
If all else fails though, I will have to do that and just order a replacement from FinishLine.

I'll see if I have time to swing by the Pull-a-part to grab one. I'll check to make sure the spade connector isn't loose and about to break off.
