I just saw that thing in a show on History Channel about books that didn't make it into the bible. They were saying that some character named "Lilith" was essentially similar to legends of other cultures (like the one pictured in that sculpture), and was some kind of evil woman. This was around the time of Adam and Eve. Weird.

BTW, owls are considered to be a bad omen throughout the middle east. So in my arabic class, we used to draw a huge owl on the dry erase board every morning, hoping that it would scare away the teachers. It worked sometimes.
