no, but seriously. with the site getting bigger, not everyone knows everyone. we dont have any postfags or immature rep-whores on here like that other atlanta car site, so i dont think it would get abused like it does on there.

i think it would be worth a trial period of a month or so at least.

Reps is a retarded system for just showing how a person is either a) more of a post ***** or B) who is more popular.

Instead with the site getting bigger you need to worry about people getting scammed or ripped off. I think the site is still too early to really worry about it, but always have to think ahead. plenty of sites I have seen have a feedback rating for buy/selling of things.

It's only worthwhile when you have a porno section, so you can see who spends the most time looking at and posting porn. Otherwise, it's kinda dumb.

It gives you the ability to add a positive or negative "point" to someone. If you go on IA, you'll see some people are obsessed with acquiring as many positive "rep" points as possible. Sometimes it's cool, sometimes it's dumb. On IA, it's dumb.

see, i dont think (for the most part... dopp... oh wait nvm.) this site would have that problem. most of the users are mature enough to not be dumb rep-whores like everyone on IA is.

but honestly, how can you compare IA to an actual enthusiast site? supposedly by the end of this year it wont even be known as Import Atlanta. paul and julio are going to turn it into Off-Topic Atlanta or something of that sort and have an automotive section. which from their perspective is a great idea, because they will generate HUGE $$$ from it. and it wont really take away from the site, their OT section is the biggest part of the site.

i wanna see reps too, i think itd just be so funny, because for the time it would be on "test" itd be a race to see who could end up with the most negative reps. just judging from every ones negative response to them.

i vote yes to the act of "reps"

i recently noticed that a few of my other larger forums have been doing away with the system.. ill have to see why.

but still reps are just plain fun.

lulz.

I say no to reps. I hate the system, there is no point.
After a while people just start negative repping people for the hell of it.
It's childish to me.

If anything, we would benefit from the seller ratings like miatatrubo has. it keeps ratings specific to selling/buying from people, not just if someone likes or dislikes someone else's opinion.

That is what I think would be the best. This way people new or old can feel safer when buying or selling something. This way is someone has not been on the board but has a decent seller rating then you wouldn't be as worried about having them meet you at your house versus having to meet at some public place.

Not doing reps, I've never liked them and won't be doing them. I do have a trader rating system installed but there was some issue regarding the version which was holding me back from implementing it. I'll look back into it though.
