Ugh.
You have no business owning a firearm, let alone another firearm.

too bad...I own 6 currently
i asked for opinions on Walther, not your bias towards my possession of one, so until you hold rank in government affairs, it really doesn't matter :)

PK380, it's a new line for 2009. It just looks sharp and I think it would be a "nifty" addition to the collection

I admit, I have very little experience with Walther handguns.
The ones I have fired were not of an impressive nature to me, but I cant recall which models they were, it was long ago.

I know nothing about guns but I know that Walther's are really cool looking and I'm of the view that the most basic of handguns will function as home defense as is. But if you should get one, pick up one of the one's Bond used :D

In general though I am not a fan of .380s.
I honestly have never fired one I liked.

the P22 i heard beat all other rimfire semi-auto pistols hands down, even when using cheap bulk ammo, i think the P22 is sexy muhself, and may just get it instead of the .380...im looking only to have one to plink/target shoot without using and buying .45 ammo all the time. not for defense
so basically Walther's kick *** according to mx5 people?

I had a S&W 422, an early model.
Not an overly popular handgun but I really liked it, never a single issue.
I shouldnt have sold it. A friend of mine now owns it and wont sell it back.
I have a S&W .22 revolver. Its not much to brag about. But it was dirt cheap so
I cant complain too much.
Can it be buried in the mud/snow/underwater for 50 years then dug up and fired?

Taurus 9mm = poor mans Beretta. :D
Nothing wrong with that either.
I had a Browning HiPower 9mm....was a great pistol.

I dont think I have ever fired a Taurus 45
Various revolvers & 9's, thats about it.
I generally found Taurus to be decent for the $$
My brother had some off brand .380, I forget which, I swear to god if you fired that thing from 6ft away from the target you'd miss and hit something behind you. Biggest POS I have ever fired. haha

I have a Taurus Millenium Pro .45. I absolutely love it. Great gun, good quality, shoots well (once you get used to it's trigger, lol), and is small enough to carry concealed very well.
That being said, I'm shopping for 2 new guns, 1 more sidearm and 1 rifle.
I haven't seen anything on the newer Walther you're asking about Calvin, but I've always liked the ones that I've shot. I've always considered a P22 just because the ammo is dirt cheap. And it would be fun to have a little suppressor on it too. lol

i HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend Aguila Super Maximum Hyper Velocity .22 rounds
i buy them at the range here in Grantvile for $5.23/50 count box. they are amazingly loud and powerful .22 rounds. supressor huh? well just dont get in trouble, while you're at it buy some subsonic ammo...all you'll here is the slap of the action

Damn if I had a gun I'ld have a silencer, wouldn't even wake the family up if someone forced entry. Leave the mess for the missus to clean up in the morning.

Pretty much any modern walther is a good choice in terms of reliability both in feeding and general care. They'll take just about any ammo you can stuff in them (the P22 being a bit finicky if the round isn't "hot" enough to fully cycle the action) and can be kept on a shelf for years and years with no care and still perform if needed.
That said, don't discount places like Taurus and other "bargain" brands. If I hadn't found my five seven at the price I did I was going to go for one of those. Rock Island Armory has come a LONG way too. Their 1911 45ACP variants are really solid and the rest of their lineup (.38 9mm) is right behind it. You can also pick up second hand Sigs for around 3-400 now in various calibers.
OH! Glock just released their 20SF in 10mm for us people with smaller hands  I haven't had a chance to hold one yet, but the slim frame design is sure going to tempt me into getting one :p

The p22 is a great little gun, especially when you fit it with the veridian green laser sight

Yes. A glock can be buried and still fire, and shoots underwater too.

You can get a decent hi-power for about $650 nowadays. It probably won't have a case or any extras, but for well under the price of a new/complete one (1300+) you can get all the pieces parts you need and have money leftover for ammo. :p

I've been looking at the PPS that came out a little over a year ago... comparing prices and reading reviews (especially after someone robbed the corner convenience store and left running on foot - only about a tenth of a mile from here a couple months ago) -- I haven't looked at the new Walther model you mentioned yet.
