I assure you the LS one is a lot faster.
it is, but do look at the part where I said that still has a miata motor. ;)
and yes Mike, I to would prefer the white one, except I'd rather have a manual instead of a powerglide(which is what I "think" it has.)

03-23-2009, 10:26 AM
Oh I thought you meant it was faster. Never mind then. What's it run?

I'm just glad someone did a twin turbo LS1 and showed everyone traction is indeed possible... with some "minor" modifications.
Twin turbo LS1, 6 seconds. White NB, 8.8 seconds.

You have weird ways of having fun. If you say because my car has 100hp and I said weak sauce, yes that's true, and yes my weak sauce comment was obviously a joke. Personally I wouldn't want more then 180-200whp in a Miata, and that's a LOT to me for this car. I love the momentum feeling a Miata is suppose to be, and feel like that's what these cars are suppose to be. If I spent all this time trying to get traction and fighting the car it just wouldn't be fun. I may slap this turbo kit on and run some low boost since I am doing a couple time trial events, but nothing major.

yea just only, I mean it is good for a miata motor. Id like to be somewhere around that power range, not sure if I'll be able to do it on a 1.8 cause I sure as hell don't feel like going the stroker route, unless it came down a couple grand.

I'm going to be happy with whatever I can put down with the new setup. If I still want for more, I'm going LS1.

****, i'd be happy with ~320rwhp
Just have to figure out how to get there...and how long the stock bottom end will last.

Haha IMO what you already have is enough. But then again, I've never driven a Miata with that much power. I thought 220hp was more than plenty for my old S13 I used to have.

Well, after being on the track with a few other cars, I wouldn't mind having the top end acceleration to match the cornering the car is capable of. On the back straight of TGP, I couldn't quite catch the C5 ZO6 that was out there....but he wasn't really pulling away from me either :D But he later had to le me pass after I was staying on his *** everywhere else

very nice mike..very nice. I'D JUST BE HAPPY WITH 240hp and supercharged. i like turbo's people, please don't get me wrong. i'm aware of the greater power potential. i just prefer instant boost and wanna do something that the majortity doesn't choose.

you LOVE starting **** on here dont you?
anyways, that ls1 car is cool, but i think its kinda counter-intuitive to take a car that handles so well but goes so slow, even from the factory, and make it a straight line car. that would be like lowering a jeep or something.

I think drag Miatas are cool. I also think it would be cool to have a Hummer H2 laying frame on 26"s. Not quite a slammed jeep though

That's not a hard goal to achieve with the MP62. Too bad you weren't in the market to buy another Miata a couple months ago. There was a company in FL called "Big Gulp" that was selling their development car... cold side MP62, built motor, a/w intercooler, stand alone ECU (Tech-II i think) and a TON of other mods... but it looks completely stock...and was making 340rwhp.

Sounds more like an incompetent driver in the 'vette than mad skill from you :p

Not really, this is different Corvettes, and I have days of track time under my belt. Not to mention a good handling car. Obviously driver skill plays a roll in anything road racing related.
