Mike could you post up in the technical section what your problem is? Just in case others are having the same issues.

I'm trying to see what he's talking about. Not much to any avail. If I click New Posts, it shows them in order as they were posted, ascending order based on time.

The **** hole hell that is Ebay has greatly 'improved' their setup....it is now NOT possible for sellers to leave negative feedback to buyers. Thats really awesome! This way you can screw with sellers and be a deadbeat etc etc with no real repercussions...unless some moron at Ebay decides to act upon the issue. As each year goes by Ebay gets ****tier while increasing their intake of your cash.

Anyone see the news about the ****ing Somali pirates that have taken an oil tanker with 2 million barrels of oil and a crew of 25. NATO and the US Navy have both said that they do not believe that anyone is going to try to intercept this ship. WTF?! Meanwhile it's steaming along to some port that is known for pirate activity. It's like no one cares.

Oh, and that other ship with the tanks and military supplies that was taken by pirates in the end of September? Yeah, they still have it and the crew with the various military ships not allowing them to go anwwhere.

Ridiculous. Don't we have Special Ops for just this reason?

I was at QT right across from Hamilton Mill but there wasn't any animals around which is what scares me more. Had a squirrel or a penguin been around I would have understood where it come from. Granted I think I would be more puzzled as to why a penguin was hanging out at QT.

Get two penguins and put them out in front of QT, one all loud and annoying and the other over weight and quiet.

Yep! At the Civic Center, just came here from Germany, it was really good too! (They have part of it permanently on display in NY, that may be what you're thinking of.) I was upset because in the advertisements they show the solid gold coffin (which I've wanted to see in person since I was a little kid), so I immediately jumped to the conclusion that it would be there, and it definitely was not. Still has not left Egypt, and probably never will.

after 5 minutes I already find myself arguing against a bunch of stupid snobs about megan coilvers. I don't really care but they just get on my tits. They ask stupid questions, and listen to e-mechanics with zero experience.

I have given up on a few car boards because of that kind of crap.
It is really annoying when some folks think because they sit and read info on the net for hours on end they are an expect yet they have never actually turned a wrench.

I am not saying that I am anything close to an expect but I don't have problem jumping in there and giving it a go. I find the garage section of that board to be the best resource there.

Still has not left Egypt, and probably never will.I've seen it in person. :butt: :D

I was at Roebling before they finished paving the infield roads and they were so bad I almost got stuck in the ruts of mud.

Every time they would call Group 1 to the grid it would start to pour harder.

m.net has some people that really do know their stuff....but often the ones that talk the most know the least. I learned years ago to pay attention to only to certain posters...and just have fun with the rest. It does get tiring though getting the stupid arguments that typically come up from the same group of retards.
IMHO it remains the very best resource of Miata info on the net....in spite of the retards. :)

I think he was asking about where on the good-win-racing site and you won't find the 6ulr on the good-win since emilo at 949racing still hasn't made the first batch yet. Check out 949racing.com to see more info about the 6ulr.

Where are the 6UL's?

We are taking this slower part of the North American race season to re-tool and complete development on the 2nd generation 6UL wheel. We hope to sell out current versions here and all our dealers so the only wheels leftover are spares for crash damage and so on. As of Nov 9th, 2008, I have only a few ITA wheels, my dealers have a few more sizes maybe.

wildfire0310
11-29-2008, 09:06 PM
my biggest issues with the 6ul is it seems like emilo is holding back on them. I was talking to Joe from Rspeed awhile back and he was talking about how big of a production run for his rims that it just seem wrong that the 6ul are always on back order. He was saying that to keep the rim cost down there should be crate loads of rims done and one time and yet they are always on back order. IDK maybe Joe was just talking out his *** but he did seem to have a point./

either way I would still love a set of nickel or bronze 6uls

Yes, I do think this is the case. In the end the customer pays more because of it too.

The same is true with the rear bumper lip spoilers now available. The small runs make them much more expensive then they could be.

ben91
11-30-2008, 08:27 AM
Does he make small runs? That's not the way I see it. He's a small business, a 1 man operation I believe. Where's the capitol to make a **** ton of wheels come from? These orders are probably $100k+ each. And now he has 4 different sizes and he keeps adding new finishes as demanded by his customers. I bet he's stretched like a rubber band. If he has to raise capitol (ie business loans or investors, both of which are tough to source right now), then the customer must pay the assosiated costs in both time and money.

And now he's got a design revision, and a new design. You've got to make sure you're sold out of the original version before releasing the revision, otherwise you have to liquidate the old version to ensure sales. Plus the revision and the new version are both going to come in new finishes.

He has 2 or 3 batches per year. Some sizes/finishes are sometimes sold out before they even arrive at port. Other sizes, usually the smaller sizes, sell much slower. I noticed that the 7.5" version had plenty of availability when I looked last. That kind of confuses me a little bit, and I think it's due to the way that the wheel is marketed. I'd myself recommend the 7.5" to most people, especially on daily drivers, as they're the easiest wheel to tire. The 8" takes only a WIDE 205 series, and they're a little stretched. 225 45 is a very limited size and will have issues on most NAs. 225 50 will be too big on NAs and require some work on NBs to fit.

I think he's doing a damn good job of balancing this project and several others he's working on.

I am not saying he's doing a 'bad' job...or that there is anything wrong with his product.
Nor is there anything wrong with small business. I am glad there are small business like his.
I am simply saying there are other 'small businessmen' who could make exactly the same product for considerably less $$ and have it not be 'out of stock' nearly as much...because of the small size runs he obviously does. RSpeed Joe would be one example. I would be willing to bet $$ if he made those wheels they would be in stock and cheaper....and likely more profitable to the seller as well. And it all has to do with the size runs. The constant fiddling and retooling is gimmicky and may interest some...but in reality it makes it all cost more. The real cost of such an product is in the setup. Once setup if one runs a larger batch the end result gets MUCH cheaper. ;)

Yea Emilo is doing one hell of a job running that business and at the same time but you think he would be trying to cut cost so he could get better over head. What gets me and it is why I think he is kinda making small batches(which isn't saving him money) or is holding out on rims. The reason I say is that if he is always selling out before his shipment gets in then the market should be flooded by now. I mean I know alot of his buyers are race cars but that should have already tickled down into the street market and we should be see more 6ul on street cars and for sale used already.

As for the 7.5 be easier to get well if you think about it. The 15x7 get picked up by alot of race cars for spec and street cars that don't want to stretch a 205 and don't need 225. The 8 get picked up by people wanting to say they ahve 15x8s or people who need to fit 225 under the rear.

I will have a set of 15x9 with 275's on my car....eventually it's just a matter of timing when the next set of 15x9's are available. Unfortunatly, the tires are $240 each :(

jester911
12-01-2008, 12:56 PM
That is probably going to get worse in relation to 15" wheels. Most of the old Porsche racers using them have had to go to 16s because of tire availability.

Doppelgänger
12-01-2008, 01:06 PM
Yeah, the only reason i'd have 15x9 is because Hoosier made a 275-35/15 A6 which has a 23" diameter vs the 24.5" diameter of the 235-40/17 tires that i'm using now (in which I have to raise the car to put them on and lower it back down when i put my DD wheels back on). I looked into some 16x8 +40 wheels to run a 245-40/16, but the diameter is 24". But then again, the street tires I run are 215-40/17 Neo Gen with a 23.9" diameter (slightly oversized compared to other 215 40s). I'm right on that edge of tires sizes where thnths of an inch count for clearance.

I wish I had the $$$ to just buy sets of wheels and try them on my car lol

Our family is very sad. Our beloved 750 IL was seriously injured in a freak accident in a parking deck. The specialists have moved her from the intensive care garage, to a hospice on Buford Hwy. A front end colision has rendered her "engine dead", and we've made the difficult decision to pull the ignition wires and sever the gas lines. She was a beautiful, optimistic 18 year old in immaculate shape. She was happiest out on the big road, stereo blastin, sunroof open, and all 12 cylinders pushing her upwards of 120. ...A frauline with a special twinkle in her halgon headlights.

It is our hope that she can live on in other cars who desperately need her healthy parts. We are willing to part with her remains to a resourceful person who can appreciate her post-mortem value. So far I've been offered $700. Something higher would help mitigate our anguish. Something in the $1200-1500 range would go a long way towards enabling us to move on with our lives... without her. Anything over $1500, we're headed to Vegas. More pics available. Dean 404-843-0899.

Since GM has its head up its *** and is willing to keep GMC that we outsell by like ten to one, they're probably gonna shut us down. ******* ****. I did NOT want to be another freaking Oldsmobile. Out of our three dealer group, two of the other dealerships are being converted into satellite stores that can only sell mechanical parts, giving us the wholesale business. Good for us since it's another $50,000 or so in profit a year, bad for them because that means they're going to slit throats in the other parts departments. I've got the very sick feeling I'm riding this mother****er down into the ground.

But will they fire the ****ers that draw six digit salaries and don't do a thing? No. That's the one thing I hate about the people I work for, they'd rather pay a jackass $100,000 or better to do a song and dance number (literally, he gets up, dresses like Mr. T and sings/dances) than someone who makes them money. Fire the idiot! Fire the CFO! Get rid of all these fluff people who are making six digit salaries and don't do anything other than collect a paycheck and go golfing. ****.

Do rich people automatically have their business sense scooped out?

I agree with you on that this. They would much rather let go multiple people that are lower on the food chain per say then to let go one CFO, CEO, etc. which makes no sense whatsoever. Every executive can be replaced for a much lower cost but they are just too damn lazy to make that change.

I'm of the thought that the union has really ****ed this whole situation up for the automakers.

I don't like the GOP...bunch of old whiny redneck bastards if you ask me, but GM/Chrysler need to figure this sh!t out on their own. I don't feel bad at all for GM, but it sucks for all the small people that get shafted.

My problem is that we are bailing out the financial sector which proportionately has much higher salaries but we are doing nothing for the blue collar workers that are going to lose their jobs. I don't want to bail anyone out, I think if you fail at business, you fail, but you can't give so freely to one and nothing to another. Also, the $15B proposal was for loans, not free money. We bailed out Chrysler with a loan in 1979 and they paid back every penny of it. Unfortunately, I don't see that happening again. I think Ford will make it, GM maybe and Chrysler is just about done... which they should be. They have made horrible decisions and that's how it goes.

I just saw that bailout did not pass the Senate (vote 52-35).

How much can that affect your job, Steve?

Um...well....I really don't want to think about it although I should. Considering that I do a lot of work with OEM manufacturers such as Chrysler, Ford, etc., this makes me wonder where I'll be in 3-5 years. :(

I have to admit that I love working in the automotive industry but with the way things are turning, I've been considering joining the Air Force and going into the medical field. I've always considered this but more so recently...

^ I bet you are.
As of right now Yamaha's future is very secure, we're cutting production on our vehicles at the moment, but since we don't rely on just those (and they're still selling very well), we're ok. So I'm very happy that I'm here and not working for AutoNation anymore.

Bingo.
And...Greed is the chief motivating factor which has undermined and trashed our entire economy. What were once considered the important things in life are now taken for granted as spoiled greedy Americans feel 'entitled' to what are really luxuries.

But your computer is on? If the hard drive tanks out, the damn thing won't start. I would try a hard reset (power down without letting it save anything).if you have not already. Open up the case and blow out any dust? Make sure al lthe fans are working? It's hard to tell...

it's my external HD that kept all my crap on to avoid bogging down the laptop

I was discussing the automaker situation with Tommy last night and realised that I can't physically argue it any more. I have too much frustration and too many things to say that I can't get them out one at a time.

Jack, if it's not powering up, I can take it to my dad. He owns/runs a computer business and has been successful with retreiving all the information of external HDs before.

Could you imagine how frustrated you would be if you were the one who made those sculptures? I would be so pissed off when it falls.

OMFG one of my coworkers just told me the funniest thing I've ever heard. First off, this is true, this guy doesn't make this stuff up. Someone brought up ridiculous names and this was his response...

He said when he was in school, there was a girl named Le-a. He assumed it was pronounced "Lee-uh" or something close to that... no.... her name was "La-dash-uh". No, the dash is not silent. WTF!
