Sounds ****ty Eric. My car died a few times when I turned the AC on when I picked up my gf this weekend. I thought I managed to beat this problem, it had been ages since it got me. Maybe the extreme heat?

I have no clue. When I took him back to the dealership after work, it almost stalled once as we pulled in. He got out, I drove it around and tried my damndest to get it to do it again and it wouldn't. At first I thought that maybe it was a wire issue, but everything seems to be fine there. It just wants to be a b****.

long legged dude, maybe some big arse feets on him? maybe he was bumping some wiring by accident with his feets or something...

 Nope, a somewhat larger guy, but he fit in the seat. The whole wiring harness is still tucked in it's plastic tunnel along the door and is out of the way of the cabin area, I just meant wiring at the ECU since I handwired that much in. But everything has a solid connection. :dunno:

Wait. The 94+ have the ECU behind the passager seat right. You sure that he wasn't somehow pushing up against the ecu or some of the wiring. I would put 5 bucks that it had to do with having the passager.

Already thought of it. The Hydra case is actually very strong, and I took the circuit board out of it when I got it (becuase I was curious and the casing had already been opened before). It actually hovers in the casing. Pretty nifty little design. And no, the seat doesn't touch the case or the wiring, took care of that when I installed it since I didn't have the Hydra mounting bracket. And I've had plenty of passengers already, ranging in many sizes and weights, this is the first time for that one. To sum it up, car is just being a b****.

Now don't get this as an elitist rant from some "if you don't have a Ph.D you ain't sheeet" pinhead...

A friend's son decided a couple of years back that he was tired of going to school, so he just quit going... Now 3 yrs later, we've got a boy with a 7th grade education and some half-assed "home schooling" (not knocking on home schoolers, but I doubt someone with a just a HS diploma from 1969 is really qualified to teach these days). Anyways, he gives up on home schooling and just wants to get his GED. He goes yesterday to fill out the forms to apply to take the GED... One of the first blanks he encounters...

COUNTY __________
U.S.A... no wait, that is the country (OK easy mis-read there)
Dallas... no wait, that is the city
Georgia... no wait, that is the whatcha-calls-it, state...
Paulding... DING, DING, DING, we haves a winnah!

And to think, in a couple of years, if he doesn't mow someone down during a D.U.I-fest, he'll be a registered card carrying voter and contributing member of society

Doppelgänger
08-13-2009, 09:05 AM
I often have to check on forms if it says COUNTY or COUNTRY...it's just one of those things that our brain goes into auto-pilot when it sees...smethonig aubot how the bairn wrkos wehn it sees wrdos taht are fmaliair baeusce tehy satrt and end with crteian letrets. Our brains sometimes are too quick to match how a word looks to what it really is.

You know what irks me about this whole thing? He has opportunity that a lot of people don't have. His family has money, or had before the housing took a crap. They own a pretty successful stucco business out this way. Anyways the kid's family has money. I helped him a couple of times with papers before he dropped out of school, and he isn't dumb... He's just damn lazy... and his parents let him be lazy. The schools out here aren't steller, but they are average. His family has the cash to pay for college. BUT he'll never make it... At least he won't if he keeps going at this pace.

So long rant made short... he has opportunity to do better than his parents, or take what they have built and make it ever better, and yet through laziness he'll piss it all away.

So the fan on my video card started dying last night, right before I was leaving for band practice. So when I got home, I pulled the card out, and started using my MB's onboard video.

Problem solved, right? No. I had to switch to a standard monitor cable (I had previously upgraded to a DVI cable when I got my LCD flatscreen). So now the color is constantly flickering. Googling the problem says it's probably a bad cable. But it's the only one I have.

I need to just buy a replacement video card, and I've found a bunch that are a huge upgrade from what I had...for $40-65. But still no job....so I really need to not spend the money on things that aren't necessities. So yeah...now I will just live with an annoying flickering screen until I get a stinkin job. AWESOME.

That's actually the same ESP/LTD bass I have for sale now. But I dig Ibanez basses, too. They usually have really great necks on them. As a matter of fact, I went from an Ibanez to the LTD. I'd be selling the Ibanez, too, but it's not worth much at all, so it's just going to be a backup.

I passed him on the freeway, he came flying up after me, paced me for a minute, then nodded forward and took off. So I dropped into 5th (yes, 5th) at 70mph, pulled him in, and then put about 4 lengths on him before letting off. He was cool though, when I was about to exit he paced me, honked, and waved. I think that there are some cells in the upper RPM range that are not well-autotuned at full throttle though, was getting some hesitation (maybe spark blow-out), which is why I let off. But no lean condition or detonation, which is good. I want/need COPs.

That would be fun. :D

So either i'm a softy or I have a lot more self-control than I thought I had.

I went out to grab some pizza lastnight at Felini's on Roswell. Well after finishing up I start heading toward Buckhead for a quick drive since the weather was perfect. Figuring i'll hit up the Lenox area first, I take a left onto Piedmont from Roswell. So i'm on the inside left turning lane when we start going and the car in front of me makes it through when I notice the car on the outside turn lane that was a few feet ahead slam on it's brakes. I had no clue there was a red Celica that was about to be in my lane at the same time as me but heading in the oposite direction because the car in the outside lane was blocking my view of oncoming traffic. Byt the time I saw it, I had about .75 seconds to react. My instinct was to floor it (luckily I was high up in the revs) and turn hard to the left.

I don't know how close it was..I really dont. I've been in some near misses before..but nothing like this. I was honestly expecting the crunching sound and the sudden change in lateral g-forces from it plowing into my passenger side rear wheel....seriously. I was actually shocked when it didn't happen. So withing .5 seconds of me realizing that I just avoided a pretty bad accident, my brain switched into Kill Mode. I yanked the parking brake and pulled a 180*right over the center line (traffic was stopped around me, probably because they were in a bit of shock. So I get back on Roswell and take off seeking my revenge. I see the Celica dip into a shopping center and follow and pull right up next to the driver's side....and the window was down. I look in to see some girl who turns around and says "I'm so sorry" with a little quiver to her voice...she's scared sh!tl3ss. So rather than use a string of four-letter words that would make a drunk sailor, a frenchman and a thug sitting at a table arguing... i simply give her a death stare and say in a very serious yet slightly condescending tone "Sorry doesn't save lives, you need to pay attention to when you are going" to which she replies "OK, i'm just lost and didn't even see the light"....to which I said.."All the more reason to pay attention to where you are going"...and then I left.

Yeah, I know it's long...but I like putting people into my shoes rather than giving a 3 sentence description that leaves you wondering "WTF?".

Downtown Chicago really puts Atlanta to shame. It was so amazing all the buildings were so historic and vintage as well as corporate and amazing!! We stood in the glass box at the top of the skydeck at the sears tower. And i stuck my foot in lake Michigan! Haha :) it was a great experience, but there's no place like home. It's quite impressive as is the Field Museum, Shedd Aquarium and one of my favorites, the Museum of Science and Industry.

Also, people in northern France were nice when I visited. They seem to remember a little more about the war than people to the south.

Northern Italians are pretty nice people too. Probably because they act more like Germans. Wonder why....

I really didn't meet a group of people who acted like dicks when I visited Europe. From a few different trips its been Germany, Czech Republic, Denmark, Holland, Belgium, Italy, and France. Most people were friendly.

When I went to Ireland people were very nice, too. Especially when I got out of Dublin. The world over, you can't really judge a culture until you get out of the city. Everyone has that big city attitude. It's annoying.

Yeah, what's Man U going to do with it's 131 million (ridiculous!!!) they got for Cristiano anyway?

I think Real Madrid just helped that kid get a giant ******* ego and they're going to pay for it. He's in a much bigger party city now, with a lot more money. Just speculation though.

I don't follow a ton of soccer. I'm lucky if a catch a few games a year, and I'll watch any team. I'm just happy the U.S. isn't a complete laughing stock anymore. I was hoping we'd break that losing streak in Mexico City.

So I flew into Ft. Lauderdale tonight, talk about a ****hole. We were only off the plan for maybe an hour and already have a few good stories to tell. I was told this place wasn't as bad as Miami but if that's the case, I hate to see Miami tomorrow when I go. Hopefully I won't have to be here too terribly long; maybecheck out the nude beaches first.

Ft Lauderdale is lame. Miami is pretty ****ty in parts. The nicest FL beaches are on the Gulf. White sand, clear water, and a lot less tourists.

So no one else is on PS3? Paying to play online is dumb! It's bad enough you gotta pay out the *** for the console, and then you gotta pay for internet. I mean, all you 360 guys got screwed enough as it is by the whole HD DVD fiasco, friggin Microsoft should be paying YOU to play online!

PS3 does not have the selection of games that I like, that's the main problem.
Secondly, I paid next to nothing for a brand new Elite console and a ton of accessories because the previous owner never used it. Patience in getting one paid off. However, since I'm playing on a regular TV, HD means crap to me at the moment.

I've been playing Modern Warfare for about a week and a half. The only thing I really don't like is in online play there isn't a ranked play, so me as a Lvl 8 am playing against 55's. I might get 6-7 kills per game, but I'm dying 3:1. I wouldn't mind if it was just because I sucked (which I do) but they get weapons and upgrades I'm not privy to and that just seems wrong.

Yea, at first I had the same opinion but some of the later guns are that much better then there early guns, just different style of playing. I still use the M16 and the AK47 often and I have prestige 7 times now. It just comes down to learning the boards more then your guns and perks. And sometimes you just get owned. :(

I don't mind it so much for the xbox, as it $50 bucks for the whole year and is any xbox game. It would be nice if it was free but I do understand that they got server upkeeps and have to pay people to watch them and all that. I view it as as long as I play online for about 2 hours a week, then it covers my what $1 I invested.

One day I will get a PS3, but right now it not worth it to me. Mostly cause the games I play on the PS are mostly RPG and some racing games, and they yet to really come out with any good RPG that aren't on the xbox also. Once GT5 and Final Fantasy hit the market, then I save up and get the PS3(hopefully second hand and cheaper)

If Mike's is too dead to revive, I have an original XBox that's modded to play burned games, which I have quite a few of. If you'd like it for that reason, you are welcome to it. Now that I have the 360, I don't even look at it.

Harrison and I stopped by probably the niceest BMW dealership I've stepped foot in. When we were driving by, we spotted a 599GTB sitting out front so we decided to drop in and check it out. As we pulled in, we noticed they had 15 Phantoms, the 599GTB, 360 Modena. Upon further inspection, we spotted a new Veyron inside. That car is a lot smaller then one would anticipate. They were asking $1.8 million for it.

So far, we have spotted some very nice cars but it's also depressing when you see kids drive by our age in a F430 Spyder and a CL63 AMG. :(

I'm up to 4 Veyrons so far... they are not large at all. They are very, very wide but not tall or long. Did you see the inside? The interior is gorgeous and you can really see how wide it is when you notice the center console.

Hey Mike, if ya neeed a PS2 to play your games, I've got one you can have, I'll give it to you when I get the Rear Valance thing.
I have a 360 and a ps3, my 11 year old loves me, I buy the stuff and t what they he plays it, on the 73 HD set in my "media" room, that I haven't watched in three months... I always end up watching on the 37" downstairs, I am gonna upgrade that to a 50" soon though... old man eyes aren't what they used to be.

Call me old fashioned, call me brainwashed from being in the military, or maybe just call me a team player... But when the hell did "dude that isn't my job" become a valid answer to anything you don't feel like handling in your job? Or even better, the jackhole answer of "so i'm suppose to do everything around here?"...

I'm not an ***, I don't want to do everyone else's job either... However I've always been under the impression that "not my job" gets you jobless but "that isn't a duty of mine, but X handles that" is the correct answer and will get you kudos as a team player.

OK, sorry, rant off...

That's awesome! We just wanted to get them something loaded up with games so that the mom won't have to worry about constantly buying new ones. A modded x-box would be greatly appreciated. I'll see if Mike's PS2 can be revived too. Maybe it could go to that charity Kurt mentioned in another thread.

No, it was a power induced slide, surprisingly . It happened as I shifted from 2 to 3 and just happened to be where black-top and concrete meet. So mix all that and some wet roads and get some minor sliding. Enough to wake my sleepy *** up

Yeah, that'll about do it.

I woke up to sharp stabbing pains in my chest, both arms were numb, couldn't breathe very well. As soon as I got up, the pains subsided somewhat, felt like bad back pain, and went to work. It got worse again. Long story short, I had two rib heads out of place, so now I'm at home in pain and still working from here. I have to go back tonight to get them checked and possibly reset again. I'm going to ask for something strong because ibprofen isn't touching this.
