We can also thank companies that take advantage of other company's R&D and sell the same thing, but a lot cheaper. Yay knock-offs.

Whats even better is, the knock-off pcs are probably being produced at the factory next door! (Once a company owns the tooling rights, the factory is not able to produce an exact similar item for another company).

The first thing I thought of was ebay when I read the title.

Fuk a bunch of mortgage bankers...and all banks for that matter.
When they get in trouble they get bailed out by the gubment (all of US) when a citizen gets in trouble financially most still have to PAY....thanks to the banks lobbying for new bankruptcy laws that screw all of us.
*end side discussion rant mode
Bummer for Trust/Greddy...I guess everyone will blame China? Ebay knockoffs?

Well, maybe they will restructure or get bought out and reorganized, kinda like what happened with SSR wheels.
But **** all these cheap bastars who buy/support the cheap chinese garbage.

It's a combination of things as to why they went under. Our economy is not in it's best condition and the lower/middle class people are barely making ends meet. Due to this, people do not have the extra money to spend on their cars like they used to and having to settle for the replica items instead.

it's still because of the cheap bastards!

^^ lol
If I can't afford the good parts, I'll wait until I can. Or until a deal comes through from a private buyer. :)

I'll wait until I can wheedle them out of somebody used too. I'm one of those cheap bastards most of the time, but quality matters. I'm not buying Ebay **** to save money at least.
Sucks about GReddy. This is kind of ominous considering they were one of the biggest aftermarket names out there. Wonder who's next.

I've always liked buying 'brand name' stuff and will pay extra for it.

ROTA is from the Philippians... not China.... and they've been around a LONG time. I've had RAYS/Enkei/BBS/Konig. I don't see ROTA as a cheap(quality) wheel company.

You should add: "As long as there is quality to back it up." I know a lot of good brand name companies that have gone to hell as far as quality is concerned.

Yup, it's when huge companies start releasing quickly made generic molded body parts that have been slightly adjusted to fit the latest model. I normally prefer small scale operations where an individual spends time to research and develop a superior good.
Well that's for body work and smaller things, when it comes to struts/springs and all that kind of stuff I'll buy quality over price.
