Okay, its a long shot, but I'll post here just for fun. :)
What I am really looking for is a Kimber .45 ACP, but if you have something interesting to sell PM me with details.

Is this going to be concealed? If so, don't you think a .45 is a little excessive?

I've considered getting a concealed permit but the wifey doesn't like that idea. :(

No such thing as 'excessive' when shooting an intruder.

I am not thinking in terms of concealed carry at this point, but doing so certainly is not a bad idea.

Kurt,
Talk to my friend Cliff at Dixie Ammo Dump
www.armthepopulace.com
Very good guy, who's into guns and Miatas. He hooked me up on a 9mm and ammo not too long ago.

There's also an awesome classifieds section at www.glocktalk.com with all sorts of stuff, not just glocks.
I just got a G22 (full size .40, popular LE gun) off there with night sites, 3 hi cap mags, and built in laser, that will be delivered Thursday for $500 :)

If you ever want to go shoot stuff, let me know. I've got the little Kel Tec PF9 9mm, older Sig 220 .45, and will have the G22 .40. I've also got a couple bolt action rifles, including a 50, that I've been dying to take to the public park range in Gainesville.

Thanks for the info.
Lots of nice guns on glocktalk, including some Kimbers. Theres a Dan Wesson .45 on there that makes me drool. I have never shot a DW semi auto but the finest revolver I have ever had in my hand was a custom DW.

I have a Taurus Millennium Pro .45 that I just sold my Desert Eagle 9mm for. Comes with a case, Taurus' lock system, and 2 magazines. My girlfriend, who is tiny, can control this thing without a problem. I'd recommend it to anyone looking for a small, easy to aim and shoot .45. It's small (10+1 capacity though), but it fits my big hands well. And it is VERY easy to conceal anywhere. I shot one after I read some reviews on it, and immediately liked it better than my other pistols.
I don't know what your price range is, but I've seen them as low as $350 new.

I've always wanted a Kimber. I'm also strangely attracted to http://glocktalk.com/forums/showthread.php?t=919611

But I went with the Glock since they're out of Smyrna. It's nice to be able to just drop it off at the factory for any repairs needed. Shipping firearms is a PITA and expensive.

My brother has 2 or 3 Kimber's. I have never fired a sweeter .45
He has a 9mm in the same frame too. He got them all on trades for computer stuff.
Bastard wont sell me one cheap.

I've got one of the new Smith and Wesson M&P models that has got to be one of the best guns I have ever shot right out of the box. I used to have a Glock 34 long slide competition model but wanted something a little smaller in size. S&W has 2 17 round clips in 9mm and doesn't cost a car payment to shoot. Any one want to get together and shoot let me know. I am a member of cherrokee gun club in gainesville. you can find it on the web through any search. 8 outdoor covered pistol bays, a 100 and 200 yard rifle range. sporting clays and skeet/trap fields. I don't know which gainesville public spot you were talking about, but if its the oakwood sportsman lodge I bet they would frown on the 50cal rifle. I have never shot there because of my membership at cgc. cgc is just up 985 at highway 60. I can bring 2 guest for just 6$ each.
Metalman I believe we met at fantana on sat. during matg.
TODDR black 95 miata.

todd,
No I was referring to the Wildlife Management Area (WMA) range
Region 2 on this list http://www.n-georgia.com/ranges.htm

I googled your gun club, looks like a neat place.

I did. 2 of the 3 mags need new springs. I called Glock this morning to order 4 springs (to have a spare) which they insisted on sending free of charge. When I told he gentleman my GA shipping address, he offered me the option of visiting their Smyrna facility where he would inspect the weapon and repair/replace/upgrade everything as necessary. I couldn't turn that down, so I'm doing that tomorrow.
