How do you all cope when your car is broke? I get emo and depressed.
Over the summer it was fine, I had the bike so had another form of transportation and something to give me a rush, now there is nothing.
I think I am going to start dropping acid tonight.

I mean I can usually use a car, but if I don't drive stupid once a day or brutally beat mine my body goes into emo mode. So it's not good.

i almost went crazy for the week that mine was down. i was stuck driving a FULL SIZE bronco. i was kinda cool though, i felt like the king of the road for real, and those things car turn sharper than any vehicle i have ever driven aside from a forklift.
i think the main thing i missed was the sound of my car and having a decent sound system. fm radio is an epic fail nowadays, i think if i hear another disturbed/shinedown/staind song or any other gay *** generic hard rock song again in my life my head will explode into a fine bloody mist and my soul will constantly haunt the band members of such crappy, half assed attempts at making music.

Simon, I feel your pain. After my meeting with a tire wall at Barber last May in my Pcar I was not the same. It will be a while before I can afford to repair it properly so I bought a Miata beater to take its place. I can't go to the track yet but at least I am not stuck driving the work truck.

^^ not just that, but its expensive as hell to crash at barber.

Car's been down since July of last year... Been driving a Toyota Previa, not even a supercharged one... I don't want to hear any whining, *****ing, or complaining... Except for the Porsche driver, his experience compares...

Lol I know right. Mr. Barber likes his botanical gardens with a race track through the middle to stay perfect down to the last spec of gravel.

Partially it's my own fault as I decided now was the perfect time to upgrade everything related to the engine and drivetrain on the car. New manifold and downpipe, larger turbo, new intercooler system, built bottom end and lightly worked 99 head, 6-speed transmission, 3.636 rear gears, etc. Some of the wait was caused from getting two bad donor engines (before I decided to just build my existing engine) since I'd start tearing them down and find something horribly wrong (one had spun bearings and the other had detonated like a biotch), part of the wait has been on parts I've needed, and part of the wait has been the work being done at the machine shop, but that mostly isn't their fault either.
*le sigh*

Well it sounds like it will be worth the wait.

I really hope so. I'll probably live in the car for a week or so after it's running again. Maybe get out for 5 minutes to go home and shower. :D
Poor Eric :(

Fortunately I did no damage to the tire wall so I wasn't presented with a bill.
One of the first things the wrecker driver said to me was well at least you won't be buying a new wall too.:(

I've found one of my big problems with this is the constant looking for another car or thinking of selling lol.

I can't have like two cars and like one if one is down. I need a bike to settle that.

I would be riding the bike right now. I really hate not having a bike as I try to get my car running.
Just do what ever you need to get your car running.
Did you ever find another 1.6L??
