Eh. I've had better. /Jim Carrey
Anyway, not a big fan of the Soltice, always leaned towards the Sky. There was a Sky at the last NOPI Nats here that was badass. I have pictures somewhere of that thing.

Found them. Took no time. The interior was a little busy, but well put together, I'm not big on the slammed look, but it was ok, but I was mostly impressed with the fab work in the engine bay. I'd show the shot of the turbo side since the tubular manifold was a true piece of art work, but I got bumped as I was taking the picture, and didn't get a chance for another clear shot as people don't respect people taking pictures at NOPI.

Agreed as it sits, it has/had potential to not be. I was standing there looking at it thinking, I'd paint the whole thing gloss black, pick it up off the ground, put a solid color interior back in it (probably black as well), and throw some different wheels on there. Then it would look mean as hell. My problem is that the only thing I ever remember about that car is the engine bay.

I would put every body panel back to stock, throw the tail lights in a bon fire, put interior back to stock, well some seats and a nice steering wheel, different wheels, lower it some, and be done. Also a more aggressive bar.

A Soltice is a Pontiac. Thats automatic three strikes and an out.
A Sky is a better looking car...but...nahhhh.
The roof line on either is horrible too.

The VX220 if I remember right. They're really good little cars. Always a bastard in the early races in Gran Turismo's or Forza's

The early Opel Speedster/Vauxhall VX220 was actually on a Lotus Elise chassis (200-2005)

Not my cup of tea!I've driven one before, no where near as fun as the mx5. out side of driving a Porsche, and for the price it simply doesn't get any better than the Miata. (horse and rider as one).

it was the inspiration for the Miata. Miata means reward I think.

eric drove me around in a redline sky before, it's faster than my car by a little. so i wasn't to impressed..to much weight holdin that hp back on those cars and you can really feel the weight in the turns. sucks! i just hope dodge never comes out with this demon roadster.

I know the first concept didn't look that bad, but it got worse. Then there was talk of the chassis being made in China and the car being FWD....but luckily, plans for that car got tossed out.

The Solstice = The Sky. Exact same car, only difference is the body. Even the interior is the same. And now there's not really any Pontiac on the road that's not a derivative of some car already produced in another market.
And the plastic bodies on Saturns (pre-2003) are pretty damn tough. I had a few cars bounce off mine, simply buff and good to go. Not to mention it dropped around 250fwhp with a turbo... No one ever expected that. lol

the original plastic saturns were solid cars, pretty quick for what they were, far faster than comparable hondas.

If anybody is truly interested in the Solstice and Sky twins, it just so happens that my dad was the chief engineer for them, from start to finish.
