2011 Holiday Party & Secret Santa Gift Exchange

Our Secret Santa gift exchange is tentatively planned for Saturday, December 10 starting at 3:00 pm. Anyone is welcome to come, even if you aren't doing the gift exchange. It's going to take place at the Mellow Mushroom at Brookhaven. If you can come, please respond to this thread with how many people will be in your party and what time frame you think you will be able to make. I know some people are only available at certain times due to work, family obligations, etc. Last year we were there from about 3:00pm until around 7-8:00pm IIRC, so I'd like to shoot for the same thing this year.

Most people who attend these meets are in their mid 20's. You'll fit in fine, just find Danny he's like 18.

Everyone is very friendly as well.

I am going to go ahead an elaborate on this more since I am a server! Since we are a group of about 20-30 people we will either have one or two servers. If we have one server, than we will be that servers only table, so make it worth their while to take care of us. And since we are going to be there for like 4 hours we NEED to tip nicely. I am going to assume they will put a gratuity on all of our bills, but they do not have too. If they do put on gratuity you can always tip more than what is SUGGESTED!!! Servers only make $2.13 an hour, so they make all of their money from tips, so TIP GOOD! We want to be invited back!

If you look through the front window of the pic of LagunaRoadster's really nice looking green miata, you can see my ratty old Toyota truck. :lol: Thanks to Jzilla for the gift! It is awesome. Only low light of the evening was that somehow while we were in Mellow Mushroom I lost my keys. :( Never did find the darn things...lucky my wife had the extra truck keys on her key chain. Really looking forward to the next meet. Thanks once again, Eric, for setting this up...it was great to meet & talk to you! The bearded guys are funny as crap.

I also wish SCCA scheduled their banquet/awards ceremony on a different day. It was a lot more formal than I expected (most in jacket,shirt, and tie), also with a much older crowd. Open bar is always nice. I had fun, but I think I would have had a lot more fun with you guys.

Danny, I was especially excited that you were able to come. I wanted to show you that place because it's the PERFECT place to take a girl for a relaxed date. So I hope you remember how to get there. That place has worked for me many times in the past.

Give him or her your credit card number and tell them to leave themselves a 20% tip and just run the card after you leave. Boom, when the girl asks if you're going to pay just tell her you know the place really well and they'll settle it up for you. You just got one hell of a lot cooler with no real work.
