I'm sorry Mr. Ledger, that best supporting actor Oscar is heading to a Mr. Walker once this drops.

Did anyone else catch the Ford RS200 in the trailer? It's the fastest, most-expensive thing they have ever had on film for any of those movies...

I hate this movie series with a passion. This is what gave the import scene a bad rep.
But........we all know we're going to watch it at some point in time whether you want to admit it or not. :)

Hehe...a quote that universally applies to anything "Fast & Furious" related.

Blame Craig Liberman.......
I swear, since the first one, i ALWAYS hear people use those two words to describe soo much sh!t... too bad anyone that says it on TV has no clue how cheezy and retarded it makes them sound.

i agree most of us will watch it even if you dont like the series. But when is the last time a really good car movie came out that wasnt chessey in all or atleast in several parts. if nothing else you get to see nice cars that look good even if they are no where near as fast as they want you to think they are. just my two cents.

^^ Gone in 60 Secs wasn't so bad. The only part that was obviously fake was the ending when he ramped off the ambulance.
I agree though, it's hard to find a GOOD car movie. :(

The original Gone In 60 Seconds has some great stunts in it...although the movie is corny.
That and Bullit were movies where people did real driving at speed and filmed it...instead of using CGI and speeding up film etc etc The behind the scenes footage from the original "Gone..." and the story about how the Bullit Mustang was a turd that couldnt keep up with the stock Charger RT until HIGHLY modified are very interesting too.
I consider both those movies to be must have classics for the car guy...or gal. :)

I dunno how many people on here have seen the original Italian Job...but that could be called a car movie. The real-life jump of the 3 Mini's from rooftop to rooftop was pretty badass.
Ronin has some pretty badass chase scenes as well.
I'll go ahead and admit I've watched the first and third F&F movies more than once. The second one was complete ****e. But if it's a car movie with the slightest amount of production value (for a bad example, see Redline), I'll watch it.

Yeah, what was the stock engine in that year Mustang? Wasn't it the 390 FE? They really were slugs. The heads sucked pretty badly. But still...weird that they'd have to "highly modify" the Mustang to keep up when the Charger was a LOT heavier and was probably only putting out around 75-100 hp more than the Stang.
Best chase scene of all time though. Even though they use the same shots from different angles in totally different parts of it...And watch for the white Firebird and the green Beetle. They make appearances about 7 times each.

The Bourne series have some brilliant car chases. One of the best all time stunts remains in one of the older Bond films, the flip over the river.

Mind-blowingly awesome. I'm looking forward to watching FF4 just for the sheer fact that it's empty meaningless entertainment with questionable content.

I'm much of the same mentality, I love watching any of the other Fast and Furious' when I feel like vegging out and watching mindless phaff.

to me whats funny is most of the good car movies ppl have made the cars werent the stars just had a great chase or two like ronin, the italian job had a lot of car chase but still was more a bank job but both had great cars chases and were good movies. i think when you make a car movie and you spend too much time on the cars it tends to get cheesey. someone brought up redline i was hoping that would be good one it had more $$$$ in cars than it did in actors in it, which might be one reason it wasnt good.

BS! "Two Lane Blacktop" Has James Taylor, Warren Oats, and Dennis Wilson in it. If you like street (drag) racing, this is THE movie. It is a great watch even if drag racing is not your thing. I think HOTROD mag. had is listed as there second or third best car movie of all time. It happens to have sceens at Deals Gap from the 70's as well.
It is however very hard to find, but well worth the search. About $200 for the real box dvd set last time I checked. I've never seen it in a video store, rental or purchase, before. Just download it if you can find it. I first saw it on Speed Vision's "Lost Drive IN"(who remembers that?) when I was about 12/13 and it has been my favorite movie ever sense. It only took me about 10 years to find a copy I could afford :jawdrop:. Car swap meets seem to be a good place to find bootleg copies.

I still say that the original Gone in 60 Seconds has got to be one of the best too.
