Hi everyone, glad to find a miata website which is base in Atlanta. I have just got a black NA with hardtop but no soft top and a JR M45 supercharger. I love the car and it is a lot of fun to drive. I am planning to do some maintenace work this weekend (all fluids change, brake and tune up ). But I have never own a supercharger car before and have no idea how to maintain it ( like how to change SC oil and what grade ?). Anyway, shouldn't ask too many questions here. I will search the forum and learn. If you see a black miata that "flip" the eye to you. That's me//

There's actually an outfit in Decatur that sells rebuild kits for the M45 JRSC, or you can have them do it. They sell rebuild kits on Ebay, probably the easiest way to get in touch with them. Unless you have a lot of miles on it, or it's making unhealthy noises, it's a sealed unit, and does not require frequent servicing. The OEMs go 100k plus without opening the cases. Welcome to the site, and the madness.

you buy supercharger oil from GM. For the m45 / jrsc kit, you have to remove the supercharger (not hard, about 3 bolts) from the car as its "upside down". The drain / full port is on the front bottom (actually top). Let it drain, then fill it to the edge of overflowing. GM sells the supercharger oil at their parts counter, it's like 5$ for 8 ounces. in my experience, you'll need 1 bottle and just a little bit more - so buy 2.

Sorry for the crapy cell phone picture. I don't know if I need to rebuild the SC? I don't hear that sucking air noise from it nor do I feel the SC kick in. Is it possible that the SC is there but not working at all? And where I stand next to the SC while the car is running, I can hear noises like someone hitting a drum inside the SC? Does it make sense? Anyone knows the place in Decatur that Oldgrayfrog was talking about? Thanks again everyone and I am happy to be here.
