I'm looking for a Pure White NB with the 6-spd but having difficulties locating one. Does anyone know of one around for sale? It has to be mint with no previous accidents and as far as price goes, well that'll depend on the miles.

Help me end my hunt. :)

TIA

Steve

Dude don't be afraid of an auto! I see them in white often, and they are *much* cheaper than an LS 6 speed even though you'll need to buy a new trans and a limited slip diff. You won't be using the other LS upgrades anyway with your plans (suspension and body cladding mainly). Would be several thousands cheaper unless you just fall into some stupid deal.

Here ya go,
Literally this is the best miata ever offered to the US (no joke)
http://www.morrisonmotorco.com/display/?vehicle=2998&images=4&theme=morrison

Club Sport is a 'factory stripper', no a/c, no radio, super sweet manual steering rack, hard top, no soft top, and the hottest engines that came off the line. These were built for stock class racing for top level competitors. Very slick car and very rare.

Yeah it's a really cool car. And though they were for sale, they never were really for sale if ya know what I mean. You had to be somebody in order to be able to purchase one. Common man couldn't walk into a the dealer and get one, even if they had cash in hand.

That's nuts. If I had the money, I'd go buy it.

Steve, that low enough miles for you?

manual steering rack sucks in miatas.. the steering ratio is terrible...you just about have to give twice the steering input to get the same degree from a power rack. If one hates p.s. that much, toss the pump and loop the lines.

CS Miatas were available if you walked into a dealership and ordered it. Many dealers ordered them and put them on the lot.. and had a very hard time selling them.. they could barely give them away. And as far as I know, the engines were as stock as every other Miata.

If you look hard enough, it's possible to find a white 6spd with cloth interior...I have seen a couple (literally)

LB and I have looked into this one. I wonder if they'll work on the price??

I still disagree any time someone says this. I have driven each combination back-to-back, and I still don't understand how anyone says it sucks. The difference is literally so minimal that it doesn't matter. Maybe that's just me.

I have too... and I hated it
I really did like my de-powered rack on my 96 with the 320mm MOMO Competition steering wheel... it was perfect for the car.

From what I've read and feel free to correct me if I'm wrong but I believe Mazda did what BMW did with the '95 M3 LTW. Only the strongest motors (based on power it put out) were put into the LTW.

I would rather just buy a normal cheaper one and boost it. That way you will definitely me making more than other stock engines! :D

Yeah...the whole 'strong stock engine' concept in ANY Miata is a weak one at best.
I wouldnt buy ANY expensive NB personally...as NB values are dropping like a rock.
Ones money would be far better spent on a low mile BRG or Sunburst etc....even though
even then I wouldnt get crazy like some eccentric m.net fool.

Well I have plans to have it boosted as well. No worries there. :)

opinions on this subject can vary but mike I can't believe you don't like the m/s rack. especially if you do like depowered with a small wheel? imo m/s rack is wonderful. especially the nb rack which is an evalution better than the na m/s rack.never seen a cs new at a dealer but I guess anything is possible. those things were super tough to find when new and still are as they all got beat up racing. specs, like na r pac cars, did get the best engines off the line. nothing special inside, just strong runners. remember the mag articles showing 0-60 time improvements that couldn't be explained by the relatively small reduction in weightn

Doppelgänger
02-04-2009, 01:29 PM
It's not the weight of the rack that I didn't like, it was the steering ratio and input required to execute xxx turn.

ben91
02-04-2009, 05:58 PM
I like the manual rack because it has a lot more feel.
The NB manual is a higher ratio than the NA manual, but I'm having trouble finding the data. I think you'd really really like it, it's pretty damn sweet.

I have owned a bunch of manual rack Miatas. They're way over rated IMHO.
