I am looking for some tires for a 16x8 wheel and am looking for sizing around 215/40. The car is pretty much my DD for now with the occasional spirited romp down the mountain roads. No autox or anything till more work is done and have the funds to do so lol.

I have been looking around and had decided on the gforce kdw based on many good reviews and specs, but then I stumbled across these nexen n3000. I have never heard of them which is not saying much as I don't know as much as I'd like to about tires. Has anyone used them or heard anything about them? I like the $90 price tag much better than the kdw $150 so let me know or if ya'll like a completely different one let me know :)

Nexen N3000 are really garbage tires. Sorry but it's true. The KGWs are well worth the extra price of admission on that tire. The KDWs are a "summer" only tire yet rate exceptionally well in all areas of wet and dry braking and if you get the communist Consumer Reports as well thrown in the mix, you will find, that the KDW actually worked passably on snow! The Nexxen 3000 did poorly across all spectrums of testing. If you just can't pay $150, I suggest you shop around a bit. I believe I got my KDW set from Discount Tires direct for right around $400 delivered to my doorstep.

I got a set of KDW-2's from Costco. Really good street tire, and I'm surprised how long they've held up.

Only time I had them in the rain was a flash downpour that left standing water in the road. They were awful in standing water, but I doubt any summer tire would have done significantly better given the conditions. A light car on wide tires is always going to do poorly through water.

I have some Toyo Proxes FZ4 in that size on the front of my car that seem to hold up pretty good & were less than $80 each.

I can't say anything about those but there is a ton of tires in that price range that are good tires. I have Yoko S drives on my car and love them so far.

Yeah I like the KDW's and if I can get them cheaper than $150 that would be awesome. Might have to check out Discount Tire and a couple other stores in the area and see what I come up with.
