lol I was at a Divisional in Danville, VA last weekend. I don't want to hear anything about 'too far away' ;)
Then again, I'm nuts. I regularly autocross with the Alabama region in Birmingham along w/ the ATL region events
However, I'm IN a wedding that weekend, so it looks like I'm out for this one :(. It'll come down to points 10 for me to defend my title of 2nd in class... for the 2nd year running...

oh bollocks to that. anyone who doesn't think that their car is ready for an autox should have a look at my bucket we all call a car. i think that struts are blown and still i'm out autoxing. no more excuses folks. get out and learn how to drive properly.

hey it's just a personal choice. My car may not be bautiful but structually it's sound. Why spend more money repairing what should have been done rite the 1st time.

No, my dad's in Italy. But Brett Howell (my usual co-driver who I'm in no way related to) and Wayne Walter (who I'm also in no way related to; Wayne has a C Stock silver MR 2 Spyder, his brother Jeff races Spec Miata with NASA) were driving this weekend.

panda, i'm sorry to have taken the piss out of you. i think the post was a bit more harsh than what i wanted to say.
basically a lot of the folks jdm and i try to get out autoxing have a million and one excuses and it gets old after some time. i say that as long as the car isn't broke and still drives fine then it's okay to autox. the experience out on the track is what makes the difference to me, not the car i'm driving. my altima is piss poor for autoxing, but my times have gotten better each time i'm out there. and it's so much fun. next event you should come out even if you don't want to compete and get some rides with us.
that aside, i need to see your car up close. the idea of graffiti on cars is awesome if done right. i've seen many done poorly but i like the panda hood all graffitied up.

They're actually "dampers" if we really want to get technical.

well, I can't argue with that, but shocks and struts are both dampers. Saying it's a damper and not a shock is like saying a square is not also a rectangle (try to think back to middle school geometry... ;))
And to your credit, you used dampers, not dampeners like... well pretty much 95% of the population, so you're ok in my book lol

I call them spring sticks.
But flameproof speaks the truth, it doesn't really matter what state the car is in, it's the driving that matters. You won't learn and become accustomed to anything incorrectly just because of how it's setup, in fact you'll be able to learn from experience and really feel how the changes you make effect the handling of the car. It allows you to become more in tune, to become one with the car.

ALL good... i still live by the "arguing on the Internet... is like running in the special Olympics" rule
id love to come out to the next event. i literally just started a new job so i cant be going to somewhere like NC but ill try and keep an ear out for smi-local stuff, ill be a the varsity on Thursday if your coming... the car will be there but keep in mind... the hoods got 1 place my friends doing something on so it hasn't been clear coated or anything and the trunk is still unfinished. its a combination of intricate graffiti and weird doodles.
