What's the thing called with the dumb blocked off coolant passage nipple and the coolant line and sensors? Mine is cracked like a mofo, that might have been an issue. Makes me wonder if the head is cracked somewhere or if it's been like that and caused some of my drama.

I forget what Mazda calls it, but essentially it's a rear coolant outlet cover, at least that's what people have called it in all of the reroute instructions.

If that was cracked to the point of leaking, you would have definitely smelled coolant a lot. Coolant is always flowing through there. Unless you were running straight water, then you probably wouldn't have smelled anything strong enough to notice. lol
