When my friend first told me about this story, I was sure it was another case of police being jackasses and straight being dicks. This woman allegedly was concerned about police racial profiling in her neighborhood, so she films a traffic stop for her lawn at night.

The officer doesn't like her being there and tells her to go back inside many times. He is very polite and explains he doesn't like her standing behind him and is concerned for his safety. She acts like she has no idea what is going on and then when she refuses for like the 20th time, they take her to jail. She screams and cries and says she has no idea why they are arresting her.

They also release the black guy they had in handcuffs...anyway, the story gets better. About a month later about 4 or 5 cop cars roll up the neighborhood and start ticketing people for being parked more than 12'' from the curb (yes they have pink rulers to measure). Retaliation?

What do you guys think of this? I saw the second video first and was outraged, I think its ridiculous to waste man power and time when clearly they have other issues to handle. As for the woman who filmed the police at night? She would been in the right if she wasnt such an obnoxious b!tch. Who apparently has a history of antagonizing police.

ignorance on her part. he clearly asked her to move many times. but as media and everyone who watches it will say the cop is raciest. the cop said many time "we dont feel safe with you behind us" even if she was white and a cop said please move and she refused they would have don't the same thing. just cause cop is white and girl was black he will be punished for being raciest.

That line about "not feeling safe" is the get out of whatever comes next line for cops.
Now I am in agreement with the officer. He is making an arrest, for all he knows, this woman is the alleged perp's girlfriend/baby mama whatever, and is about to hit the cop from behind with a tire iron, 2x4, mace him, shoot him with her little Bersa .32...anything to keep old Leroy from going to lockup. He gave her the code phrase, she just thought the "King of your Castle" principle applied to her lawn. If she was filming the arrest from inside her door way he couldn't have arrested her. But she was on the lawn, in proximity to a very real danger to officers and got warned. The whole tape measure and ruler thing. I'm sure that it's a little enforced law, but it exists. You may take it as abuse, but I think the officers are saying to what is probably a haven for lots of illicit activity"We are a real presence in your neighborhood, we know what cars are here at what time of day, and we are taking notes, you drug dealing, ***** running little thugs."

a cop should not have to tell anyone that many times to go away. ontop of being in a bad neighborhood. he even said mam this is a very anti police neighborhood.

Yup, it's an anti-police neighborhood, right up until the bad man is breaking down their door, then it's a "Where are the police when you need them??" If I were in that neighborhood, I'd be happy to be able to say,"They are right out front with pink rulers." I doubt there's a lot of crime happening when they have those pink rulers out.

I think the parking ticket thing was uncalled for. I mean, thats just ridiculous. I agree that a decent amount of police "violence" gets played up, but for sure there are some crooked cops out there. I still get upset when Sandy Springs police are out in force writing traffic tickets..I mean I understand the new city needs revenue, but is there a way to do it without catching people running late to Sunday morning Service?

I feel like there are much larger problems for a city to deal with than rolling a stop sign (in my neighborhood btw) that gets patrolled quite often. Its just sneaky, and I feel, a little dishonest. (And yes I have been ticketed twice at that same stop sign in the last five years).

Just a couple days ago, this old 65 year old dude in my Irish Lit class said: "Why are there no snakes in Ireland? Because they all became cops in New York." Lol. There's a fine balance somewhere between enforcing the law and simply being a dick to your fellow citizens. That said, I haven't really run into any foul law enforcement around here. The one Fulton County PD guy by the movie theatre is a dick (kicked me out for playing guitar) but thats about it..
