So I noticed that over at Miata Turbo they have an RSS feed for their threads now. Do we have this option anywhere? That would be a fantastic solution and would allow me to eliminate the clutter in my email from the notifications.

Jack, I found the settings menu for RSS in the admin panel. I take it it's ok to enable it, so I have. (Sent you a text too.)
---------------------------
The feeds are currently provided in two formats, RSS and RSS v2. The differences are as follows:
RSS 0.91 - This feed is based on a standard written by netscape and provides a link and the title of the thread.
http:// www .mx5atlanta.com/forums/external.php?type=rss
RSS 2.0 - This feed contains title, author, date and the contents of the first post of the thread.
http:// www .mx5atlanta.com/forums/external.php?type=rss2
Remove the spaces from the web addresses or it will not work!
The forums to which this applies can also be limited to specific guest viewable forums by adding another parameter to the URL containing the forumids as follows:
http:// www .mx5atlanta.com/forums/external.php?type=rss2&forumids=123
If you would like the content to be generated for multiple forums you can separate the forumids by commas.

It's basically a live updating thingy. For forums, when someone creates a new thread, it adds it to your feed. For news, when a new article is released, it adds it to your feed. You subscribe to the sites you want to read. That's about as much as I understand since I haven't messed with it too much.
I now have this forum and mt.net on my feed... First impressions, don't care for it too much. Can only see the first posts of a new thread, can't reply directly (that I can see), and it's easier for me to get on the forums and interact via Tapatalk or via the Mobile Version.

Thank you I appreciate the actual response unlike the DR. who decided to be an *** and post the lmgtfu link assuming i wouldn't google before asking a question!
Only kidding doc!

Also found that forum sections that are not viewable by guests do not show up in the feed, that makes sense, but it's also a drawback.

Added the following information above, but just for the sake of making sure it's seen:

Don't hate Danny boy!
I keep RSS and twitter up constantly wherever I am. I think the RSS can be set to show the newest post. I know on Mturbo I can subscribe to specific areas of the forum (I subscribe to MS and Race Prep forums) but I havent played around with ours enough yet to see.
I'll play around with my home reader since it's the one I'm most familiar with and report back with any cool features I find.

I've tried some different methods of reading the RSS feed (IE, Google, and a few apps on my phone), none seem to be able to display the most recent posts. You get the initial thread post and an option to view the whole article, which just takes you to the thread. Also, when a thread is replied to there doesn't seem to be a notification or update for that either. I'm going to keep looking though.
Like I said, I can see the point in having RSS in regards to news articles, but in a forum environment it seems to add a step or two to the whole process of using the forum. But that's just me, obviously people like it or there wouldn't be an option for it. lol
Drew, in regards to your first post asking for RSS, I don't see how this is going to reduce the email notifications you receive. You're still going to get notified for every thread you're active in based on your current subscription settings.

Yeah but if I can get the RSS to work the way I want I can turn off notifications.

Drew, I have a solution (take out the spaces): http:// www. mx5atlanta.com/forums/external.php?lastpost=true&type=rss2

Fantastic! That's much better
Now instead of clicking new posts or getting constant email feeds I can just let my rss reader do it for me... and my life is a little easier.

Yep. Although it only displays the most recent post at the time of the refresh. But I guess if you're using that method, you'll click the link to go to the thread anyway to read everything else.

Now if we could just get a widget that rotates porn videos and facebook/twitter updates I'll have my entire internet usage in one app.

Like I said Drew, we all sit around trying to figure out ways to make your life easier. :p
I'm going to continue to use the normal method of viewing the forums. Even with this most recent posts option for the RSS feed, in my opinion it still adds steps to viewing the forums. I guess if you read a lot of online content having the forums updating via your RSS feed along with everything else makes sense. I just don't do much online aside from browsing the forums and project research.
Now if we could just get a widget that rotates porn videos and facebook/twitter updates I'll have my entire internet usage in one app.
Make one. Profit.

I think Apple has an app for that... or at least it should.
This brings me back to my original thoughts of the "bachelor iMac". It has just enough guts to run full screen video... but had a fiber connection and 5 TB RAID array standard.
Otherwise, thanks muchly for the RSS feed, especially the http:// www. mx5atlanta.com/forums/external.php?lastpost=true&type=rss2 one... Now I can continue to run my life through Google Reader.
