OK first i don't want any stupid *** answers. I was looking at a new wheel that i like and no one will have. they are 17x10 with +20 off and also come in 17x9 + 35 offset. how hard will it be to make this fit? how much rolling will be involved?

ill contribute with A LOT of rolling. but if a 15x10 can fit why not a 17. its all the stance with more of the ground clearance lol

And a lot more potential for tires rubbing everywhere, so yes, either a lot of rolling or cut & flare. That being said, my opinion is that 17s on an NA makes them look like 4x4s. NBs just barely get away with them and that's only with certain wheels.

Will look kind of stupid IMHO, google NA Miata 17" wheels. That being said I had 13x10 with 215's on them. They fit just fine. they were also about a 38 offset. The lower offset will help you not run into rubbing on the suspension side, but you will have to at least roll the fenders a little bit. You can fit 225's with just a fender roll on an NA. The size overall of the wheel and tire is still about 23.1 inches. Remember if you use a 225 or a 215 on a 10 inch wide wheel, then the tires going to be 235mm wide, it's just gonna stretch a little bit. Look at the pics of the 17's, and then look over at Goodwins site, and look at the 6ul pics with the 225-45-15 mounted on 15x9, that will give you an idea of the overall size of the wheel going into the space, the big difference is that with a 25mm offset, your wheel will stick out about half an inch further.

Test fit some 17s first to see if you like them. I wish I would have tried on the ev5s when I had them but I was set on a bigger tire.

Rotornutfd3s has said it best, i had 17x7 on my first NA with 234/45-17 and rubbed link not other with rolling. To me its not worth it i rather have 15x9 with 275/35-15. Also to add having the 17 made the car look like **** so once i was able to i put 15 on and and was much happier. Also you can get a better tire for a lot less on a 15 then a 17. I have RE11 and wouldnt change them for the life of me at $97 bucks each. Only other tire ill get is the toyo R888 in 235/50 15.

17s are awful on an NA.. 16x9/10 will do way better. You'll need to roll a good bit, but your best bet will be flares. Which Chris has for sale.

You won't have to roll at all.... if you install a 6" lift. Hehehe.

Has and does run 17'"s on his NB, although i dont know if they would look great on a NA, i can tell you that you SHOULD be able to fit them......

problem with flares is they don't fit right. need to be molded in to look right and i just got all the body work finished don't want to ruin the paint just yet.

Ive been thinking about moving up to 17s just because of how lame tire choices in 15 and 16 inch sizes are.
A 17x9 +35 with 225/35/17.............is this fitment workable without rolling? seems like it would be fine on paper to me, but Im probably overlooking something.

I vote no for 17s on NAs.
However, 17x9s fit perfectly on NCs. And no rolling required!

Rolling isnt as unbelievably difficult as you might think, so why the hesitation? It takes like an hour. Just heat up the lip your rolling and everything in a 8" area from that. Its seriously retarded easy.
I have 15x8 0 offset with 195/50/15, Had to roll the back a bit but nothing extreme, the front you barely have to touch.

I know it's not too bad. I've done it to 5-6 cars. I just like saving a couple hours of work.
