This is the same model I have and I love it. You add your own optics/sights to fit your preferences. I have a very nice EOTech red-dot thanks to Taylor. :)

This model is a entry model that DPMS makes and it does not come with sights , it is set up for you to mount your own optics on it.

The rail system like on the M4 then. I used that red dot system, the mil version of it in the Gulf, to very effective results. Under 150-200 meters you plain old just hit what the dot is on. I had mine sited in to 125M because that's where 90% of all my "contacts" were likely to happen. I've heard that folks actually sited them as far as 500m, I dunno about that, but hitting a man size target at 500M with a laser site, is damn impressive.

So this baseline is better than the M&P baseline if I understand correctly?

Jack, I don't think so. I signed a bunch of stuff saying they put me in jail if I tell most of the good ones, although the next time I see you ask me the one about the French guy with the appendicitis, that one was actually in the papers at the time, and the Pentagon liked it. It was a feel good story, and as most of the ones I can tell, ends with a really big hangover.

The M&P does have a front and rear sight at least and Smith also put an integral trigger guard on theirs which was pretty cool. I have the M&p in stock also. They are $679. Other than that I think they are pretty much the same.

Always looks weird to me seeing an M16 with scope on it. Lee can you get me a regular stock for one of these? The whole collapsible stock thing has always made bone on bone really hard for me with my big wingspan.
