Anyone have them? I got a new job where I will be making a little bit more money than the current one and will finally be able to deal with my suspension and I am looking into getting bilstien shocks or kyb agx but springs I'm not sure of. I'm thinking the abc as this will just be a daily driver and I don't want to slam it just make it a little better. What are your thoughts on this?

This is on a 96' NA

Yeah I'm leaning more towards them or tien now after reading up kore on the apex apparently they are too soft I was looking for some people who have experience with the lowering springs I'm not realign looking at coilovers cause I don't want more than 1 1/4 inch drop

Get H&R springs

I totally agree. I have H&R springs on my 99 with bilstiens and I love the drop and ride it gives me. I think it's a really nice set up for a daily driver. Just get new bump stops when you get them.

H&R is the best bang for your buck. If you just want springs, you may as well do it right the first time. Not that there is anything wrong with apex, just that a majority of the miata forums highly recommend H&R over anything else out there. Their price isn't too steep either. Make us proud Shortround, and do a mod that isn't a bobba fett sticker or something. Haha

I had Apex springs on the KYB AGX's, and they worked great, but I got a killer deal on the springs, and i was on a budget. But if you can afford H&R springs, definitely go with those.

Thanks Kurt anyone have experience with tanabe? I found a decent deal on eBay for the tanabe springs, it looks like it's going to be them or the H&R

That was the setup I was looking at. I know as far as shocks I'm getting AGX's and they will go on first. I will be ordering the fronts in 2 weeks, when I get my first paycheck from the new job

I am sure you are trying to get the best deal you can but why keep looking around when H&R is the one well known spring that works well with the miata. Only other spring I know that a lot of people like is the FM springs but they don't give you as much of a drop from what I have read.

The reason I'm hesitant on the H&R is the inch and a half drop I'm trying not to go that low. But push come to shove I may end up with them anyway

Inch and a half isn't that much. Mine is lowered 35mm (1.4") and it's barely noticeable.

I have Tanabe springs on my P5. Feel fine to me.

I know it's not a lot but my apartment complex has killer speed bumps and I'm not wanting to screw stuff up

Beastinthebushes

It's not that low. It's not slammed or anything, I mean, let's face it, our cars are low enough as is, any lowering spring you put on these cars will make it lower than any car should be. H&R's are daily drivable, easy. As far as speed bumps go, just be easy and go at an angle. You're not supposed to barrel into the damn things anyways. It's the price you pay for wanting better handling.

Idk how much they'll lower on a miata, but my p5 is pretty low, and I find myself hitting **** more often than I did in my Miata with Apex springs.

Just do the ricer thing and go over them at an angle at 2mph. You'll be fine.

The Honda guys usually blast some Little Wayne when they do it. I'm not sure if that helps or not though.

I heard the lil Wayne theory, but im gonna try to 2pac or biggie theory, I think I'll have the same results.

For me, as always, it's the Wu Tang Clan or nothing. I usually wait till Ghostface Killa does a rap.

Maybe I'm reading this wrong, but it sounds like you're going to order shocks, install those, and then get springs and install them? My $0.02, wait until you have everything and do it all at once. Then go get it aligned. Saves time, work, and your tires.

Another +1 for H&Rs combined with Bilsteins. That's what I had on the NA and loved it.

Hahaha the wu tang convinced me so it is settled I guess as long as I have badass rap playing doesn't matter what springs I have :)

Plan on ordering in stages so I don't go broke but put it all on at one time

Fo Sho, no reason to do a job twice. Especially if you have to rent a spring compressor and all that nonsense.

Also, spray everything down in PB blaster the night before.

Ok, I just saw the "I'm getting AGX's and they will go on first" statement and thought you were going to technically do the install twice.

It's easy enough to go rent/borrow spring compressors at the local auto parts stores with a deposit, but if need be, I have a really nice set that I'll lend out.

Nice didn't even think if that... And my gramps has the spring compressor and stuff so I'm not going to have to rent it I'll have to go over there to put it all on anyway cause I can't do it at the apartment. Thank you anyway though Eric.

Don't forget the wu tang album. Might I suggest their first studio album, "enter the wu tang (36 chambers)" protect ya neck is quite a good listen if I do say so myself.

Well I have had the springs on my car for several months now and I have only scraped over a speed bump once and that was actually my fault for not paying enough attention to what I was doing. This being said I have been over tall short speed bump and I have yet had to take them at an angle to avoid scraping.

Sweet I think you guys sold me on the H&R springs
