New miata member

My wife is the proud owner of a 93 Miata. I am the underpaid and untrained mechanic that has been chosen to make her repairs and her husband (well that is if I can get and keep her Miata running.
I also own a 83 280zx that I have restored along with a 01 F250 7.3 diesel pickup.

Welcome, and a special welcome to another 1.6 Miata as well. Once the timing belt, water pump and maybe the clutch are replaced you'll be a really bored mechanic for around 100k more miles. The 1.6 have no problems driving to the Moon and back. My car had 256k on it when I swapped in the built 1.8. Oh, and we transplanted it into Beast's gal pal's Miata, where it continues to give good service, now in the possession of another but still going strong!

What better way to acquaint yourself with the local sports car community than to get out to Road Atlanta this weekend. You really should try to go to the "Mitty" at Road Atlanta this weekend for at least one day. Mazda is the featured Marque and there will be Mazdas, Zs, & a little bit of everything else there and most marques will have corrals. Bring the Miata or the Z. I'm sure you will find lots of interest either way. However, if you drive the Z make sure you bring your Miata key! this will get you into the Mazda only party sponsored by Classic Motorsports.
